This dialed-in Chevrolet Corvette manages to capture 1972 within its unique paint job, encapsulating the love of the rugged Wild West even better than 'Jeremiah Johnson' did the same year. Sure, the motif may be a bit on the nose, but it still manages to possess a rather unusual combination of both beauty and brawn, featuring that unique livery, comfortable leather interior, and a numbers-matching 350 V8 under the hood. And with desirable options like T-tops, factory A/C, and several power options, this super-clean, 'Howdy, Dude' Corvette is practically begging for the open road. Take a closer look but do so quickly, because everyone in Texas is already itching to take this Stingray out to play.

Code 987 Ontario Orange is a handsome shade not often seen on chrome bumper Corvettes - not too brash, yet not too meek – a period-perfect color that looks great on the timeless Stingray shape. Despite being one of the more popular colors in 1972 with 4,891 Corvettes built wearing this bright tuxedo, not many have survived decades of color changes and restorations. Just a quick look at the market reveals how few are available for sale in this livery, which is a shame because with the ever-changing fashion of the world it looks pretty up to date with today's sophisticated color palettes. Add in the incredibly unique Gold and Bronze stripe work on the hood, T-tops, and rear end, and the result is one of the coolest-looking C3s that we've ever featured. It practically looked like Clint Eastwood riding into a dusty town when it first entered our showroom. All the panel gaps are factory correct, and it has a fantastic gloss to the finish and the fiberglass has none of the stress cracking in the usual spots. It's not a show car, in fact the finish shows enough signs of age and gentle use that it likely has a few decades on it, but the curb appeal is still through the roof even with the solid driver-quality presentation. And when it comes to C3s, you're either a chrome bumper guy or a rubber bumper guy; this one sports the original style chrome units that frame the egg crate grilles up front and add further interest to the flat rear panel with CORVETTE block letters above. The stainless trim is in great shape too, and the killer side-pipes at the flanks are like the shiny spurs on a trusty set of Goodyear Welt cowboy boots.

Code 421 Saddle interior is pretty much all you could ask for to continue the theme started by the exterior colors, and you have to admit that the combination works extremely well. Hey, the name alone is very apropos. It's also likely to be one of only a handful of cars you'll see out on the road in this color combination, making it a standout at shows and Corvette events. As an original car, the line between the original components and any newer pieces is blurry, but that's a good thing, with plush carpets working in conjunction with supple leather seat covers on the buckets and matching upholstery on the door panels. The entire interior is very inviting and in great shape, with all-day comfort and long-lasting durability that can only be had when using correct and original materials. The dash and protective pad is in great shape, with none of the cracks and weathering so many of these cars suffer from, and the factory center console houses the shifter for the automatic transmission and the controls for the A/C system. Woodgrain applique continues the Western theme inside, and it still looks great adorning the doors and center console, warming things up with an air sophistication. All the original gauges remain in great shape in the center stack and ahead of the driver, as does the 3-spoke steering wheel, further proof that someone cherished this car from day one even before it was restored. The options list isn't very long but you do get the best one of all – factory A/C – and it's fully functional thanks to an upgrade to R134a refrigerant, just like the original AM/FM stereo that's remarkably still in the dash, and the power window controls at the flanks of the emergency brake. Color-matched removable T-Tops continue the unique stripe work and instantly transform this Stingray into an open-air cruiser, and although no Corvette ever made has plentiful storage space, you can still sneak a day bag or two behind the buckets.

The engine is numbers matching 350/200HP V8, which was the base engine in 1972. Nevertheless, it makes an impressive amount of torque and moves the Corvette with enough potency that most cars are still advised to leave it alone. The factory-style engine bay shows signs of loving care throughout its life with lots of maintenance throughout, including Chevy Orange paint on the engine and bright finned valve covers, along with a bright chrome air cleaner, chrome distributor cover, and chromed-out alternator. The original TH400 3-speed automatic transmission still shifts power to the F41 7-Leaf Spring set-up out back, and the side-exhaust system sounds even better than it looks. It's incredibly solid and tidy underneath, with evidence of clean living everywhere you look, and power steering and 4-wheel disc brakes vastly improve the Corvette's road manners. Classic Corvette slotted wheels look awesome as always and ride on a set of 225/70/15 BFGoodrich T/A white-letter radials that finish the look properly.

Clean, honest Corvettes don't get much cooler than this, especially if you're the kind of guy or gal who likes to leave their mark. And just like the mysterious Pale Rider, this black hat outlaw likely won't be with us very long. Call today!

General Terms

Terms & Conditions

We recognize the need for complete transparency when buying/selling vehicles on eBay. That said, we did not build, modify, or have the luxury of personal ownership that would give us the advantage of knowing all unknown aspects of each vehicle. Transparency is king and we're happy to try and answer ALL questions our customers might have prior to purchasing. Additionally, we welcome and encourage independent inspections (see Inspection statement below).

FEES: A documentation fee of $199 will be added to the purchase price at the time of sale. Sale price does not include any Title, License, Registration, State or Local Taxes or Processing Fees. We recommend you familiarize yourself with your individual state's taxes, transfer, or additional fees.

AVAILABILITY: Please inquire prior to purchase to assure any advertised vehicle is not already sold. We advertise across multiple platforms where a vehicle can sell in a moment's notice. Vehicles may be sold prior to eBay listing end, and we reserve the right to end listings early or to cancel bids/offers solely at our discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.

CONTACT: Note that you may hear from us after to the sale, but if you are a winning bidder, click a Buy-It-Now, or we accept your eBay Offer, it is your responsibility to contact us within 24 hours.

INSPECTION: VERY IMPORTANT. If a buyer chooses to buy sight unseen (many of our buyers choose this option) the buyer accepts the vehicle AS-IS and understands we cannot address concerns post sale. For this reason, it's important all concerns are addressed prior to purchase. We make every effort to present accurate and reliable information, but use of this information is voluntary, and should only be deemed reliable after an independent review of its accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. It is the sole responsibility of the customer/buyer to verify the existence of options, accessories and the vehicle condition before time of sale.

PAYMENT: We require a non-refundable $500 deposit within 48 hours of winning or commitment to purchase. Full payment is required within 7 days of offer acceptance unless other arrangements are agreed to in writing. If deposit and/or full payment are not provided within said timeframe, all vehicles will be relisted and transaction will be considered void. For balance of payment we will accept bank wire transfer (preferred), cashier's check, or personal check (vehicle shipment will be delayed until check clears). We also offer vehicle financing, please inquire for details prior to making bids/offers. SHIPPING: We have access to a network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway and upon your schedule. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody. Buyers are welcomed to trailer vehicles home and we are happy to have everything ready to see you off with your new vehicle.

DRIVE IT HOME: If you plan to buy and drive home, please keep some things in mind. Anything is possible when it comes to a vehicle, especially a classic or antique one. We recommend transporting all vehicles to your home first, then driving it locally. Get to know the vehicle and its tendencies before embarking on a long-distance trip. If you choose to drive your new vehicle home, buyer accepts all responsibility as we are unable to control what may take place once it leaves our facility.

DOCUMENTS & VEHICLE TITLE: All purchase documents are sent immediately upon purchase. To avoid delays, we recommend returning any required documents within 24 hours of receipt. Please allow up to 30 days for vehicle titles. Usually titles are available sooner, we ask for the extra time in the event there are unforeseen circumstances.

VIN VERIFICATION: We photograph the primary VIN location of every vehicle and make sure that VIN exactly matches the vehicle's current title. Buyer agrees to hold seller harmless from any disputes arising from other hidden or secondary VINs present on the vehicle as seller only verifies the primary VIN location. If needed, it is the buyer's sole responsibility to verify secondary VIN locations their specific state may inspect, prior to purchase.

MILEAGES: Occasionally our vehicles may be driven or simply moved around our facilities. Slight differences may occur so we recommend you confirm actual and current miles prior to purchase.

CONDITION: We cover the obvious and do our best to describe our vehicles in detail. Even so, please have a transparent conversation with us before purchasing. Do be aware that all pre-owned vehicles, regardless of age, mileage, or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. Finally, be advised that although our sales associates are here to assist you with your purchase, they are not trained or certified vehicle inspectors.

AS-IS: All vehicles are sold "AS IS" and with no warranties expressed or implied. If you choose to waive inspection, do plan to have a detailed and transparent conversation with us regarding the vehicle's condition. Ask the hard questions up front. Please just call us, we are here to help and welcome all your questions!

Information is provided to the best of our knowledge and we make no warranty or representation regarding the accuracy, truth, or reliability of such information. We cannot be responsible for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies contained in information provided by the consignor/seller of the vehicle.
