1991 Alfa Romeo Veloce Spider

Unique Opportunity to Acquire a Superbly maintained piece of motoring history. A thrilling drive combined with a master class in design by Pininfarina. History & Provenance An exceptional example of an icon of roadster design & performance. The S4 is the last of the Pininfarina designed Veloce Spiders. One of the coolest cars ever made.

This vehicle has sat in my collection for seven years.

The V5 is in my name and i have all the paperwork and hold Original and Spare keys for ignition, petrol cap and boot release.

I purchased direct from the previous owner who headed the Design Department at Morgan Motor Cars.

This vehicle has been garaged most of its life and would be at home in a collection or in the hands of an enthusiast wanting to display. It looks superb.

It is presently stored in my stores along with some of my other classics. I am an Italian car fan having recently featured my Lancia Beta Spider at the NEC Motor Show.

Mechanical

This vehicle can only be described as in remarkably smart condition for its age, a testament to the time, money and love i have invested in it.

Unlike the much derided automatic transmission model this is the most desirable version being the uprated 2L manual. This last of the series includes Bosch fuel injection and power steering making it much easier to live with than earlier carburettor models.

The car is mechanically perfect. The twin cam engine is eager and makes the car great fun to drive.

I have purchased the majority of parts needed for this vehicle from renowned experts 'Alfaholics' in Clevedon.

Recent new parts fitted include: Electric window motor, Bosch distributor, Bosch rotor arm, clutch slave and master cylinder, Brake master cylinder, front and rear trailing arm bushes, prop shaft seal. All parts supplied by Alfaholics.

New service includes full engine flush, filter, and oil change less than 100 miles ago. All paperwork present.

Gearbox oil has also been replaced with Redline 75/90.

Current Mileage is 97225 although this may increase slightly as i do take it out when i have time.

Full 12 Months MOT. Car passed MOT 15/6/21 with no advisories.


Bodywork

Finished in metallic 'Grigio Chiaro' this is a Very Rare and Desirable Colour.

As part of my latest improvements i commissioned PCI Fabrication of Coventry to restore the shell.

This involved removal of side trims and complete replacement of both sills and rear valance. I have a photographic record of the works done and commissioned PCI as they are aircraft grade metal workers and regularly take on ground up restorations of high value classic vehicles.They are currently completing a ground up restoration of my Mercedes Benz 280SL Pagoda.

All arches are solid and the underside has been professionally undersealed by PCI fabrication of Coventry.

The exterior bodywork, bright work and trim are in superb overall condition.

Exhaust

Stainless steel Power Flow Exhaust System fitted by the experts at TW Custom Chrome. Lifetime warranty and a beautiful note.

Wheels

Car presently sits on the iconic 15'' Teledials.

Wheels are in perfect condition with not a scratch on them having been newly refurbished by Perfection Alloys in Metallic Astral Silver. Against the body work they set the car off beautifully.

All 4 wheels shod with top of the range Pirelli P6000 Tyres at £250 per corner. Tyres provide excellent wet traction and sports handling.

4 Wheel laser alignment has also been recently done.

Brakes

New handbrake shoes and cable were purchased and fitted in 2020.

At the same time all 4 Callipers were fully refurbished by a strip down, shot blast and paint followed by fitting of all new seals.

Vehicle will come with 2 spare callipers.

Interior & Coachwork

Unusually, all vent covers are present and undamaged. Full Tan Leather Seats upholstered by Roger Davies Coachworks of Birmingham.

All door seals have been replaced by original profile rubber 4 weeks ago. Parts supplied by Alfaholics.

Original and correct leather sports steering wheel with embossed Alfa Logo is present. These are quite often replaced with boy racer or aftermarket examples.

Overall the interior is in super clean condition and is a very nice place to be.

Car will come with a top quality fitted vehicle cover unused and in its original case.

Electrics

Interior fans, windows, wipers, cooling fans, removable Sony Head Unit with USB input work perfectly with passenger side window regulator recently being replaced. Even the original clock works.

What it is

HPI Clear, Mechanically and aesthetically sorted Retro Classic Vehicle that will turn heads, increase in value and is thrilling to drive both as an everyday vehicle / display at weekend shows or to keep as an investment.

What it is not

This car is not a ‘barn find' or ‘honest project' that the previous owner will never complete or give up on due to the ridiculous amount of time and money it takes to properly resurrect an old, neglected heap.

This car is not a rusty high mileage banger with little or no history that is hiding a myriad of structural / mechanical / electrical faults that will bite you within the first week of ownership. You can find these for cheaper money depending on how many holes they have in them and what is missing / not working.
