The Hawk Cobra 289 Le Mans is considered to be on of the best Cobra models available and this particular car has been built to a very high standard with no expense spared and amazing attention to detail. The car is correctly registered on the V5 as a Hawk 289 Cobra and registered 1st May 1969. The 1969 registration makes it tax exempt. It does have a current MOT with no advisories to 8th April 2022. The actual build date was 1995/6 when the car was built by the first owner at huge expense and he kept the car till 2012 when the current owner purchased the car. So only 2 owners since being built and only 6000 miles driven. The Le Mans version as can be seen in the pictures emulates the original 289 Hard top Cobra's that ran in the Le Mans race in the 1960's and in my opinion is the nicest looking of all the Cobra's. The large history file has receipts showing the builder spent over £18,000 on parts alone plus the considerable labour costs. The current owner has spent a further £15,000 in the last 9 years to get the car to where it is today. It is running a 4.5 litre V8 with a Holley carb that sounds fantastic and has lots of power mated with a 5 speed gearbox. This combination propels the car down the road very quickly providing big smiles all the way but can be driven sedately at low speeds with ease. It sits on Green 15 inch knock on wire wheels shod with a new set of Blockley 205/70/15 tyres. The brakes are vented discs with 4 pot calipers and an adjustable brake bias. The rear end is jaguar and it has adjustable shock absorbers. The interior is fantastic with Moto Lita steering wheel, black leather seats, black interior, black carpets, a solid roll bar behind the driver and a full compliment of instruments on the dashboard. The car has an immobilser alarm fitted. In recent times it has had a new radiator, water pump, door mirrors, suspension rebuild with tubular wishbones, new servo, brake pads, new inrtia seat belts and more. it comes with a full soft top, side screens and weather gear for when running with the roof off and there is also a tonneau cover. The quick lift jack attachments on the front and rear are not functional but look great and the car has the chrome front bumper and overiders and rear overiders with the car if thatr look is preferred. There are also a pair of side wind deflectors and a Cobra emblazoned soft car cover included. This really is a fantastic car that will impress.
