1972 Gran Torino Sport for sale on ebay - YouTube

Here is a nice looking and desirable 1972 Gran Torino Sport Fastback. It has a matching #'s 351C. C6 automatic. power steering. power disc brakes. factory gauge package with tach. factory rear deck speakers. rear defrost and rare factory delay wipers. It runs and drives good. It has had lots of money invested over the last 10 or so years. Overall this is a good driver quality car that is ready to drive and enjoy as is or could be taken to the next level as you drive it. Shows 95. 80 miles and that could be original judging by the condition but I have no way to verify that so I will have to say it could be 195k.

The paint looks good and shines nicely. The body is very solid with almost no rust and no signs of previous rust repairs that I can find. Body is straight with no dents or dings. There is one small kink (not sure what to call it) next the lower corner of the trunk lid just above the trim. Not too noticeable but it's really the only issue I can find. Paint was done about 10 years ago but the car has been driven very little since then. The paint is overall nice but has a few chips that have been touched up. Overall the body panels line up well and the doors open and close like new. Quarters. trunk. trunk drop offs. hood. floors and frame are all original and very solid with no apparent rust or rust repairs. The floors were never undercoated so they are easy to inspect and there is nothing hidden by undercoating. There are some small bubbles at the bottom of the driver's door that are not very noticeable. Rear marker lights were filled when the car was painted to give it a clean look. No other modifications have been made to the body. Car was originally yellow and was completely painted blue including underside of  trunk lid. door jambs etc. You can see small traces of yellow up near the door hinges but most people would never notice. Bumpers were rechromed when the car was painted and look excellent. Rear bumper has holes for factory bumper guards. however as you can see the guards are not present. They could be added or the holes could just have some small chrome bumper bolts installed if you so choose. Glass is good. The rest of the trim in in pretty good shape although there are a few dings in the windshield trim. It has Magnum 500 wheels that look like new with correct Torino center caps. 15x7 front with 235/60's and 15x8 rear with 255/60's. Tires have lots of tread. The wider wheels fill up the wheel wells nicely and give it the right look without being too big or having to worry about rubbing.

The interior is black and is in good shape overall. Later model bucket seats have been added. They look good and are comfortable. although there is some wear on the edge of the driver's seat. Rear seat is original and is in good shape. Door panels are nice with what appear to be factory door speakers. Passenger door panel has a few scratches but not too bad. Dash has a cover on it and look good. Headliner does have a couple tears near the back between the rear window and the side window on the passenger side. Carpet is good and it has an aftermarket ratchet style floor shifter. Shifter works as it is designed to but I would personally install a factory floor shifter and console at some point as I am not a huge fan of ratchet shifters. Interior was originally tan and some parts like door panels and trim have been dyed black. They look good and is something else that most people would never notice.

The original matching numbers 351C engine was rebuilt and has low miles. It had lots of money spent and work done with ported 2V heads. screw in studs. roller rockers. larger cam. aluminum 4bbl intake and Holley carb. headers. etc. Transmission was also rebuilt and had a mild 2. 00 stall converter installed. Also has an electric fuel pump. The car starts. runs and drives good. The engine has no smoke or noise. starts right up and runs as it should. As with many old cars it's a little cold blooded at first. It has good power and sounds good. Transmission works well through all the gears. It has a 3. 89 Traction Lock rearend that works well and helps get this heavy car off the line quickly. Suspension and steering are tight with no squeaks. Brakes work well and the car stops straight. Exhaust stops before the rear axle but is not overly loud. I would have it run all the way out the back but that is up to your personal taste. The turn signals. gauges. wipers and heater all work. The wipers work however the delay function is not working. wipers just work at regular speed when in delay mode. Not that this car will be driven in the rain. Radio does not appear to be hooked up.  Tach is not currently working because there is a Crane Hi-6 ignition (similar to MSD) installed and a tach adapter is required for the tach to work properly. these are easy to install and cost less than $70. I just kept forgetting to order one. Heater controls move freely. Rear defrost must have a short or something because it will turn on for a second then go immediately turn off. After I shot the video I noticed the oil pressure gauge has stuck at a running position. It worked in the past and I have never seen a gauge get stuck but that is currently how it is. Engine does have very good oil pressure.

This is a rare opportunity to get a desirable 72 Gran Torino Sport Fastback. It is a solid and nice looking example that is ready to start driving. Looks fairly stock with a nice stance but has some improvements that increase the looks and performance. It's not a $25k Gran Torino Sport but looks just as good as one to the casual observer. I consider it good driver quality. I have not had the opportunity to drive it on the highway since it is not currently licensed but I have driven it around the block quite a few times and it runs hard and seems to drive well. With the rearend gears it wouldn't be a highway cruiser but you could go back to 3. 50 or 3. 25's and it would be happier on the highway. just not as quick!
