Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.1) based on 308 votes
Offered for sale is a stunning rotisserie restoration. real J Code. 1970 Plymouth AAR 'Cuda. 340 V8 Six Pack with a Slap Stick automatic transmission.   Why pay the Barrett Jackson buyer's premium. when this high quality. real J code. AAR Cuda is available and ready to be added to your MOPAR collection.
This beautifully restored AAR Cuda features a non-match high compression real period correct TA 340 motor. and has had a color change to the stunning. eye catching. and in your face. high impact Plymouth Limelight Mopar green.   The car is less than 54. 00 original miles. and features an upgraded rubber bumper. and a modern upgraded in-dash AM/FM/USB stereo with a correct 1970 Cuda retro look and design that puts are a very rich sound.
The full rotisserie restoration of body is in near perfect condition. and the high compression 340 TA six-pack (3 x 2 BBL Holley carbs) engine drives strong. nbsp; starts easily. and does not overheat.   The 727 3-speed Torqueflite transmission is tight and shifts smoothly. and the 3. 55:1 posi-traction differential makes this powerful factory rated 290 HP Mopar fast off the line. but very smooth and comfortable at higher speed highway driving.   The body is laser straight with a rich multi-layer clear coat shine.   The trunk. undercarriage and engine compartment are fully restored and detailed. and the interior is in very good condition with minor wear and a few scratches on steering column.   The glass is tinted and in great condition. and the chrome is very nice and really shines.   The correct Organosol black hood is very nice and one of the best you will find on the market today - as these hoods have a history of being very challenging to paint and present correctly.
This car is a real head turner. and a car show favorite. To enhance the show quality presentation of this Mopar legend. it has period correct Goodyear Polyglas GT tires (E60-15 in front and G60-15 in rear). of which the AAR Cuda was the first production car to come standard with the rear tires larger than the front tires.
Chrysler produced the AAR model for one year only to compete on the SCAA road race circuit and challenge Ford's BOSS 302 Mustang and Chevy's Z/28 Camaro. AAR stands for Dan Gurney's All American Racers race team. and there were only AAR Cudas 2. 24 ever built (built during the March-April 1970 production runs).   The production AAR 'Cuda was visually altered from the regular E-body Barracuda with unique 'strobe' stripes that held the AAR 'Cuda logo and a fiberglass hood that actually took in fresh air. It also had front eyebrow spoilers and a rear duck tail spoiler. Unlike the standard Barracuda. the AAR's exhaust came out the sides near the back wheels. Under the hood. the AAR had Chrysler's Six-Pack 340ci engine that was unique to this model and the Dodge Challenger T/A. This version of the 340 differed from a production 340 in many ways including a 3x2 Holley carb set-up. thicker main bearings webs and a set of new 360 'J-Heads' with 2. 02/1. 60 valves. In a way. it was a kind-of a 'small-block hemi' - it could really breathe. The motor was factory rated at 290hp. However. the de-stroked 305ci track version put out 440hp. which leads one to believe that the factory rating may have been a bit conservative.  Power is delivered to a 3. 55:1 posi-traction differential by a bulletproof Chrysler 727 3-speed Torqueflite.
The fender tag reads from the top to bottom line as follows:
Line 1:  R11. V6H. Y06. 26. EN1Line 2: J45. J82. M21. M88. N44. N94Line 3: V1X. A53. B51. C16 C55. G34Line 4: FK5. H6X9. 000. 403. 155227Line 5: E55. D32. BS23 J0B 296235
The engine block stamp on rear of  driver's side is:  3577130. T. A. 340. The engine block stamp on front driver's side just below the head is:  FW340 P37450454The engine block stamp on rear of passenger's side is very hard to read if there at all.   This is where the block would be stamped with the last 6 digits of the VIN.   I am not sure if it is very faint and hard to read. or simply not stamped. which would imply a warranty replacement block if it is not stamped.
This is one nice MOPAR.   Please call Paul at 248-573-5013 if you should have any questions.
