This is a great opportunity for you to purchase a non-export 1946 MGTC with only two owners for its first 52 years.  It was originally sold in the UK to a British subject who enjoyed the MGTC for 20 years.  The TC was issued license plate EMJ735 as its first registration.  The originally issued plate. in good condition. will go with the car.  The engine. XPAG2808. was installed in the TC. Sometime during the first 20 years the engine was replaced by MG and there is a neat little brass tag fixed on the side of the engine attesting to the change.  The original paint. which was a creamy yellow. lasted until 2009 when it was repainted in the same color.  The gas tank paint remains original. thereby demonstrating the exactness of the new paint.  The match is incredible.  All fenders. running boards and hood were off during the repainting. thereby providing a professional job.
During the 1960's. a U. S. student. studying in England. purchased the TC and sent it back to the U. S.  He and his family enjoyed the TC for over 30 years until family circumstances forced the sale.  At that time. it was sold to the  next owner who had the TC painted in its original exterior color.  The interior was also recovered at the same time.
Recently. the TC has had its brakes rebuilt. including new brake lines.  Additionally. the engine pan has been dropped. cleaned and reinstalled with new seals.  There are also new spark plug wires. spark plugs and distributor cap.  Valves have recently been adjusted and the oil filter and oil have also been changed.  Of the 5 TC's I have owned. this is the only one that does not leak.  The tires are also new and the wire wheels are in excellent condition.  The TC starts on the first pull of the starter.
You will see 1948 and 1949 TC's for sale on Ebay. but you will rarely see a 1946.  The reason is the 1945 and 1946 models were not export models. but were produced for the home market immediately after WWII.  When you go to a car show. the 48 and 49's are popular. but not as popular as a 1946.  The 1946 always creates excitement.
There are no major issues with this 57 year old British museum piece.  However. as with any 57 year old car there are a couple of needs.  The bezel around the oil pressure gauge( it works) is loose and needs attention.  The ammeter gauge works intermittently and the windshield wipers need to be rewired.
Note that you are purchasing the MGTC as is. without any warranties or representations.  If you are the high bidder. please make sure that you have the approval of your significant other. your partner. your banker. your accountant and any other person or group that is in the line of supporting your bid.
Thanks for bidding.  Spring is here!  Keep the top down and go for a nice ride.
The canvas top is a 4 year old Moss Motors canvas top in excellent condition with no tears or rips.  The side curtains are original and are functional but in need of new plastic glass.
Any British car expert will recommend the purchase of a 1946 TC over any other year as it was a milestone for the British car industry.  This IS the car that started the British car invasion.  Be a part of history and own this 1946 MGTC  with original mileage for a very fair price.

I will answer a few questions that I have received:

The carpeting is in excellent condition and does not need to be replaced.

The tires are like new.

Yes. new brake lines have been installed.

The convertible top is from Moss which is represented by their tag .

I have not provided a picture. but I do have the originally issued UK plate.   It will go with the TC.

I see no evidence of leaks under the TC.

Keep asking questions and I will answer them.

The reserve IS VERY REASONABLE!!
