The Lotus Excel SE is a 1987 registered car and is in remarkable condition. with one of the biggest and best service history files I have seen in a long while. The car has the Lotus 2. 2 SE DOHC 16v engine. with twin 45 Dellorto carburetors. which produced 180 BHP. still a quick car in today's standards. With its Fibreglass ageless wide body styling. in superb just fully resprayed Calypso red at a classic car paint specialist. this car gets admiring stares wherever it goes.

The car is front engine. rear wheel drive. through a 5 speed gearbox. taken by Lotus from the bulletproof Toyota Supra. the car has superb handling and cornering speed. usually the driver runs out of talent. long before the car loses grip!  Built as a 2 plus 2. the car does has rear seats. with fitted seat belts front and rear. this SE is also equipped with wood dash veneer. ice warning light. very comfortable half leather beige seats. with red velour cloth sections. the head lining has just been renewed professionally. and refurbished Speedline 15” alloy wheels (including the spare) with excellent tyres.

The Lotus has a genuine mileage of less than 98. 00 miles has just had a new MOT. nd has done only a couple of hundred miles since the last MOT.

Although many cars look good in digital photos. if anything I would say these pictures do not do the car justice. The car has just had a repaint in the original 2 pack Calypso red paint at a classic car specialist paint shop. The wheels are as new. having been refurbished fully and the tyres are excellent. The upholstery is very good with the rooflining just having been professionally done. nbsp;the only small exception being of a bit of wear to the red panel insert on the driver's seat. The car has just been serviced and MOT'd. with new anti-roll bar bushes fitted (neoprene uprated). new clutch slave cylinder. new battery. fuel pump and rolling road carb set up.

The car has all MOTs since 1994. at which point the owner signed a declaration that the mileage was a genuine 64. 00 miles. so the mileage can be tracked from new. The service history is very comprehensive. with not only stamps. but all receipts and includes. 2 cambelt changes. rear adjustable shock absorbers. stainless steel exhaust sections. amongst just some of the many listed new items.
