Here's the best way to bring two icons together. This is a true 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air coupe on the outside. but underneath the skin are the best modern upgrades you could want. including a LS1 Corvette V8.


There is a secret deal you make when buying the right restomod. It's the quiet acknowledgement that they get built with a little extra flash because more people are going to see it. After all. if you can drive this '57 more comfortably to many more places. so this coupe will be seen by plenty more people. The upgrade starts with the paint. By utilizing a glossy modern shine and avoiding the two-tone treatment. this one skews more towards the look of a serious street machine. Plus. the brightwork attracts attention all on its own. All of it looks amazing from the beautiful bumpers to the gold anodized pieces that signal there's a potent V8 under the hood. There's even a new set of bright dual exhaust tips that serve as a little hint to upgraded power. too. Of course. if it's aggressive accessories you want. the Cragar SS wheels are the perfect iconic addition touch without losing that '57 correct feeling.


Other Bel Air interiors will feel too bright by comparison. because this one is deep. dark. and gets right down to business. The vinyl bench seats have a great ribbed pattern that's repeated on the door panels and in the headliner. All of this feels tight and pristine like a valued classic should. The black dash is in amazing shape. and all of the components work. including the upgraded AM/FM radio. heat/defrost controls. and even the clock! Below all of this is an air conditioning system running modern R-134a. so you know this is genuinely a cool cruiser. But the one seat that matters the most is the driver's seat. You get grippy upgraded steering wheel and beyond that is a full set of Classic Instruments gauges. which keeps you better informed about the motor. So that's another pretty good hint there's a lot going on in the engine bay.


Lift the hood. and you'll see another Chevy icon powering this legendary coupe. It's an LS1 V8 motor from a C5 Corvette. That means the fuel-injection callouts on the fender were not lying. and in fact. it's something much wilder than what most people will be expecting. After all. this bulletproof modern motor churned out 350 hp in the 'Vette. and since there's less than 11K miles on this whole custom build. we're willing to bet it hasn't lost its punch at all. But power is only part of this unique package. It's mated to a 4L60-E transmission that's connected to a rear end with the perfect ratio that's set for power takeoffs or all-day highway cruising. Add in rack & pinion power steering. front disc brakes. and modern BF Goodrich tires on all four wheels. and this is a great car that can be driven all day before teaching lesser coupes a few lessons at night.
