This car is an excellent driver  The interior is in excellent condition  The car comes with top. side curtains and a new tonneau cover which are all in excellent condition.   The car also comes with a full complement of tools.   The car was painted in the 1980's.   The best way to describe the paint is that it looks great from about five feet away  The front of both front fenders have an old repair. about the size of a silver dollar on each fender that shows as a slight raised area. but the paint shines up very nicely.
The following description was written by the previous owner.   It is an accurate description of this great little car:

This 1948 MGTC was originally exported to India  Sometime in the 1970's it was brought into the US in a large packing crate and put into storage in Southern California  It sat there for a number of years and when the storage fees were not paid. the car was claimed for storage fees and sent out for a frame-off restoration. which was completed in 1988. Receipts and pictures from that restoration are included with the car.
The car was purchased in 2004. but because the car had only been driven about 300 miles since the frame-off restoration. the carburetors had gummed up and the engine over rev'd resulting in a spun bearing.   This necessitated the pulling of the engine and a complete engine rebuild.   While the engine was out. other parts of the car were refurbished or repaired.   This work was all completed in early 2005.
The following is a list of the many systems rebuilt. replaced and/or refurbished.   Complete records of everything done to the car during that ownership are included with the car:
Steering was rebuilt by a local British car specialist.
Complete engine rebuild to include: valve train rebuild with all new valves. valve seats and springs; new rings; new bearings; block and head surfacing; line boring; oil pump rebuild; magnaflux of crank. rods. block and head (all okay); hone cylinders. regrind cam; grind crank; reface flywheel and reassemble engine.   All work was done by a local machine shop.
Cleaned rust from bottom of tool box and battery box and painted with rust-inhibiting paint.
Removed gas tank and had boiled. sealed and repainted.   Installed new sending unit and. unlike many cars. it doesn't leak and the sending unit works.
Removed  radiator and had boiled.
Broken and cracked joints on oil pan and transmission mount welded (both aluminum).
Starter and dynamo (generator) rebuilt.
Rebuilt brake master cylinder and slave cylinders. tested and adjusted.
Rebuilt two SU carburetors.
Replaced battery.
Driveshaft balanced.
Sent out all gauges to be rebuilt and properly face painted.
Reinstalled engine and transmission after rebuild utilizing reinforcing plates for rear engine/transmission mount
Replaced clutch plate and throw out bearing.
Refinished the wooden dash and reinstalled all gauges.   Had metal dash plate re-stenciled and painted and dash light bases painted.
Installed new carpets (old carpets had been a cat sleeping area and couldn't get the fur out).
Car fired up immediately on re-installation of engine and other parts.
Other work done since the rebuild but before 2012 include: tuned spoke wheels. replaced steering linkage. rebuilt wiper motor and replaced master cylinder (the old one was fine. but the old aluminum cap was so torn up that it was easier to replace the whole cylinder. rebuilt lever shock absorbers and replaced suspension bushings.

This concludes the information from the previous owner's ad.

Since I have owned the car. I have replaced all four tires. replaced the British steering box with a VW steering box to reduce the steering effort and make driving more pleasurable.   The original steering box is included with the car.   I also replaced the water pump and the clock.
It's a great little car and it has won several awards at local car shows.
