Another popular Chrysler A-body car has arrived at MotoeXotica Classic Cars. this time in the form of a true sleeper muscle car! This 1971 Dodge Dart Swinger 360 Two-door hardtop is the ultimate sleeper Mopar that has been upgraded with a high performance 360ci V8 mated with a four speed manual transmission on the floor and the power to the street with a 8. 75 741 Suregrip posi rear end. To handle the power the front has been upgraded with disc brakes and upgraded suspension that has a very attractive stance with the Mopar Rallye wheels. The exterior is finished in a understated but very handsome metallic blue paint that contrasts very well with it's original white vinyl top and the rear vinyl stripe. The only thing that might give away the sleeper status of this car is the Dodge Demon dual hood scoops and the very aggressive rumble of the 360ci V8. This 71 Dart is truly a FAST lightweight Mopar and we can confidently state that this one of the fastest 60's muscle cars that we currently have in our vast inventory!

Assembled in Chrysler's Windsor. Ontario. Canada factory in April 1971. this car left the factory with 225 CID Slant Six and a three-speed automatic. It left the factory with the following equipment – high-priced trim. left-hand remote racing mirror. dual horns. roof drip rail moldings. wide sill moldings. belt moldings. grille trim moldings. solid-state AM radio and black body side stripes.

Since then. someone with obvious professional Mopar knowledge replaced the six with a high powered 360 CID V-8 and the automatic with a four-speed manual transmission and Suregrip posi rear end. which morphs a lightweight car into a seriously fast. lightweight car. To handle the new power the front brakes were upgraded to discs with new brake lines and the suspension was upgraded as well. This car's light blue metallic paint is in excellent professional condition. as is the accompanying trim. The windows are in very good shape. clear and scratch-free. The car's lights are in very good order. intact and free of cracks. Car rolls on factory Rallye wheels wrapped in Uniroyal Tiger Paw radials. 215/70R14 all around. The full white vinyl roof is in similar condition to the paint. All body panels are straight and the bumpers are in excellent order.

Inside. the light blue vinyl bench seats are in excellent order. as is the matching full carpet while the matching light blue headliner is in very good condition. The dashboard is intact and in great shape. as is the three-spoke steering wheel and door panels. The mirrors and shifter are in good condition. Completing the interior is a Pioneer AM/FM stereo with MP3 player and two VR 6x9 speakers in the rear package shelf. Currently the temperature gauge is inoperable.

The 1971 Dart received new smaller quad tail lamps that would be used through 1973. The Custom two-door hardtop coupe became the Swinger and the standard Swinger became the Swinger Special. Dodge gained a version of Plymouth's popular Valiant-based fastback Duster and was to be named the Beaver but the vehicle was renamed the "Dart Demon. "

As was the case with previous Dodge rebadges of Plymouth Valiants. such as the 1961–1962 Lancer. sales of the Demon lagged behind those of the Duster. With optional hood scoops and blackout hood treatment. the car was advertised a performance car. The Demon's Dart-type front fender wheel lips and Duster-type rear wheel fender lips reveal the car was essentially a Duster with Dart front sheetmetal and other minor styling changes. A new audio option became available for 1971: Chrysler's cassette-recorder. Unlike the eight-track tapes. the cassette player was relatively compact and it was mounted on the console or on its own floor-mount casing. This unit offered an available microphone in which one could record their own dictation.

The Demon 340 replaced the Swinger 340. Dart's performance model. with optional hood scoops and blackout hood treatment. In 1971. Chrysler abandoned its longstanding corporate practice of installing left-hand-threaded wheel studs on the left side of the vehicle; all-wheel studs on the Dart thenceforth used conventional right-hand threads.

Competition to this Dart in 1971 included Chevrolet's Chevy Nova. Pontiac's Ventura II. Ford's Maverick and Mercury's Comet.

This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis. Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 30. 83 miles. It is sold as is. where is. on a clean and clear. mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
