1978 Chevrolet Corvette

Up for sale is my all-original 1978 Corvette. This 25th Anniversary Pace Car Edition has less than 50. 00 original miles and is in exceptional condition. This car was purchased a few years ago and as the 3rd registered owner approximately 3. 00 miles have been put on the odometer. As designated by the VIN #. this is an early build and is one of 1. 75 Pace Cars build for the 1978 model year.

The fiberglass bodywork is laser straight and the original black and silver two-tone paint shows beautifully and hand polishes to a high gloss. The lower front fender flares. splitter. nose and twin grills are in fantastic shape and are free of cracks. as is the bumper and rear mounted spoiler. Any minor road chips have been touched up and are hardly noticeable. All wheels are free of curb rash. with only minimal amounts of hazing. New 255/60-15 Futura GLS Super Sport tires with only a few thousand miles on them live at all four corners. The pop-up headlamps and all exterior lights function properly as well.

The interior is stock. original and in beautiful condition with the silver leather seats being free of cracks. tears or stitching separation and showing almost no wear. Door panels and carpeting also show minimal signs of wear. as does the factory leather wrapped steering wheel. The dash is crack free as well. Door and T-Top seals are still pliable and to my knowledge the T-Tops do not leak. but then again this vehicle has never seen rain under my ownership. The T-tops (and their individual storage bags) are in perfect condition. and the doors have no sagging and open and close easily.

All factory gauges and warning lights function properly and read accurately. The four speaker 8-track stereo sounds wonderful with all speakers being intact and yes. the 8-track does work without issue. The A/C blows ice cold and has been converted over to R134a with the heat working. as it should. Both power windows function properly as do the dash and turn signal lights. The vacuum operated cruise control functions as well.

The L48 175hp V8 runs like it should and has received the following recent maintenance. New water pump. alternator. valve cover gaskets. full carburetor rebuild and new belts. The front brakes have also been redone with the right rear receiving a new caliper. This car does not overheat and the transmission shifts smoothly.

As this vehicle is located in California ALL of the smog equipment is present and accounted for. The car passed smog control with ease and the California registration is paid in full until January of 2018.
