In 1950 MG replaced the enormously popular TC Series with a brand new model. the TD. The already familiar Y-Type chassis body on frame construction was used to make the TD with similar styling of the outgoing TC. The TD was extremely popular amongst the US buyers and many praised the car for its top down sporty feel. The TD also featured a new independent coil spring suspension giving the car a much sportier and civilized ride. The 1. 3 litre 57 horsepower engine was effective and sporty and prove to be very durable and easy to maintain. The T-Series MG Sports cars are said to be the last of the true original sports cars from the MG brand. These cars continue to be popular amongst collectors and prove to be such a great value.

European Motor Studio is proud to offer this exceptionally clean 1953 MG TD Roadster in classic and very traditional British Racing Green over Black interior. 1953 marked the very last year of production of the iconic TD series making this one of the best examples of the TD. Beautiful British Racing Green paint is draped over this laser straight TD. the panel gaps are excellent. and the body is completely rust and rot free. The paint finish is beautiful and has very few imperfections. There are a couple tiny rock chips in the front fenders and a small scratch from the softop/windows. The interior is finished in soft plush black vinyl with black carpeting. Everything on the interior looks to be original and has held up exceptionally well. The driver portion of the seat bench has one seam that has a tear in it but has been patched up. The TD’s softop is still in outstanding condition with all of its original window attachments present. All of the materials are in great shape and free from any tears or rips. There is an extra trim lining on the outside of either side of the soft top. the right lower trim lining has separated which is pictured. There are no holes when the soft top is fully erect. The bright work and trim are all in beautiful shape. The chrome rear luggage rack is original and in beautiful condition. The dashboard is in excellent condition. with its original black vinyl finish still intact and free from any cracks or tears. The paint finish on the dashboard right around the horn button and ignition switch does show some fade. The glass is all clear and free from any rock chips or pitting. All of the electrical equipment on the car is in perfect working order. the windshield wipers are working as designed. the headlights. taillights and dash lights are all working as designed. The horn works with its original black button on the center dashboard and the heater still blows out heat. All of the mechanics on the car are working beautifully. the carbs have been properly tuned to factory specifications. and the engine starts right up and idles very smoothly. This TD has just had a full tuned up and service. the carbs have been rebuilt and the engine has had a full fluid change and tune up. The engine compartment is nicely detailed and very tidy; the undercarriage of the car is extremely clean and very well presented. This TD runs and drives beautifully; it starts right up and idles so smoothly. The clutch feels solid and tight and the gear changes are smooth and direct. There is no slipping of the clutch and no grinding of the gears. The steering feels excellent. no drifting or vibrating. the brakes feels excellent and free from any fade or pulsating. The tires are near new as are the brakes. The suspension is very tight and precise; there are no squeaks or rattles coming from the car. If you are looking for one of Britains best and most famous sports cars of all time. look no further. These have become a very highly and desirable collectable that is extremely easy and user friendly to work on and delivers an enormous amount of driving pleasure. The values of these have slowly started to rise which makes these cars a solid investment.
