1988 Volvo 240

Ok Volvo 240 Enthusiasts. I have up for sale a very clean Volvo 240 dl sedan. This Swedish tank comes equipped with a 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive. a 2 Liter. 8 Valve straight 4 with a single overhead cam. disk brakes all around. putting out about 20 mpg. This fine specimen was finished in wine red with a tan interior built in Gothenburg Sweden. The paint still looks beautiful. its in great shape. This is a 3 owner car garaged its whole life. There is NO RUST. this car is exceptionally clean for being 29 years old. And I'm not kidding there's no rust on this car for being a New England car. it's astounding. The car is mechanically sound. there isn't anything wrong with the car; the heat blows hot as hell. and the heated seats work great too. This car is a turn key and go. it has been very well cared for. There are a couple cosmetic imperfections that I will note.  

- Small hairline scratch on passenger side hard to detect

- Dime size dent on roof

-Piece of plastic broke off from passenger seatbelt housing 

-Piece of plastic near door handle is broken as well

Other than that interior is in great shape.  

The car's mileage is relatively accurate. The odometer had stoped working sometime after 2013. The owner prior to myself said the odometer stopped working in 2015. I purchased the car in 2016. The timing belt was changed on 09/17/13 at 77. 29 miles. The cars odometer sits at 90. 87. which is the last known mileage. I have the part to fix the odometer if it concerns you. I purchased the car for my daughter to drive but she has since purchased her own vehicle. The car just sits most of the time. It has accumulated very few miles under my ownership.

 It pains me to sell this volvo as it's the fourth 240 I've owned and definitely one of the cleanest. There is a large cult following for the 240.   The Volvo 240. like the Volkswagen Beetle and Ford Model T. is an honest car. It promises to be a good car. and it is. It promises to be safe. and it is. It promises to be a good value and. history has proven. it's maybe over-delivered there.

People have terrible experiences with great cars. but the only bad experience most Volvo 240 owners seem to share is the day they got rid of it.
