1967 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 2 door hardtop. 400 cubic inch V8 with 4bbl carburetor. 4 speed manual transmission. Dual exhaust. Positraction rear end. Power steering. Tic-Toc Tach. Remote trunk latch. Original 4-4-2 shift linkage. Protecto-Plate. Owners manual. Number matching engine and transmission.

This 4-4-2 was found in a barn in the Oregon desert back in 1996 where it had been stored away by the original owner for about 20 years. It was freshened up and driven for about 5 years then stored away again until this year. This is a very solid original survivor needing some cosmetic work. The paint is showing its age with some chips. scratches and some thin spots. the trim is all there and in nice shape. The floors. rockers. quarter panels. doors are all solid. There are a couple of small rust holes starting in the trunk floor and the battery box. The windshield and rear window channels look good showing no rust. The seats and carpet were redone several years ago and look good but there is a crack in the dash pad. The car fires right up and runs and drives nicely. This is a great opportunity to own a solid nice running iconic Muscle car with out spending $40K. This one you can drive and enjoy as you detail or restore.

The Oldsmobile 4-4-2 was a muscle car produced by the Oldsmobile division of General Motors. It was introduced as an option package for F-85 and Cutlass models sold in the U. S. beginning with the 1964 model year. The 4-4-2 appellation comes from the configuration of the car: a four-barrel carburetor. a four-speed manual transmission. and dual exhaust pipes. In 1965 the new 400 cubic inch engine became standard. and the definition of "4-4-2" was restated as 400 cubic inches. 4 barrel carburetor and 2 exhausts. The 1966 4-4-2 shared a modest facelift with other Cutlasses. The standard engine. now dubbed L78. was rated at 350 hp and 440 ft/lb of torque with a single four-barrel carburetor.

For 1967 the 4-4-2's styling and base engine remained the same as 1966. save for an increase in intake valve size to 2. 067 from 1. 99 and the automatic three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic became available. The heavy-duty floor-mounted three-speed manual transmission was now standard with the Muncie M-20 and M-21 four-speeds optional. all with Hurst shifters.

Unlike in previous years which the 4-4-2 option could be ordered on either baseline F-85 or upscale Cutlass models. the 1967 4-4-2 package was based on the top-line Cutlass Supreme series including the sport coupe (with center post). Holiday hardtop coupe and convertible. Standard equipment on all models included Strato bucket seats or no-cost notchback bench seat. full carpeting & vinyl upholstery. heavy-duty suspension with rear sway bar. and wide-oval tires. power steering was a $94 option.

24. 33 4-4-2's were produced in 1967.
