This is a very special XJS Coupe in near perfect condition that has been in the hands of the previous owner since 1989. The car has only travelled 56000 miles in 25 years and benefits from a number of recently replaced parts including full exhaust system. refurbished Kent alloys and new tyres.

This car has a wonderful history file with every MOT since 1989. lots of invoices and a service book full of stamps. There is far too much to list here so please call for more information.

MOT

The car's Mot expires on 27th September 2014

Interior Condition

The interior of this car is wonderful. There are no rips. the headlining is perfect and the wood detailing is almost box fresh. There is a very minor scuff to the centre air vent surrounds (1cm). The original carpet set is present and in excellent order.

Electrical Condition

Everything seemed to work as expected at the time of testing a[part from the following:

·         I have noticed an intermittent bulb warning light on the central display but there seems to be no pattern to this and is difficult to replicate.

·         The front cabin interior light switch on dash is not working but I have not yet inspected fuses or bulbs to see if the fault is simple to fix.

Exterior Condition

The exterior condition of this car is simply wonderful. I have seen many XJS Jaguars and this is about the best. There have been no poor repairs and the inner/outer wings and sills seem perfect apart from the following;

·         2 areas of surface corrosion (each about the size of a 10 pence peice) side by side on the nearside front wing behind wheelarch

·         A small area of rust (about the size of a thumb tack head) on the rear scuttle beneath rear window.

I have had the areas inspected and the technician consulted has advised these are small cosmetic issues only and although require attention are not problematic.

Tyres

All the tyres appear in excellent condition with 6 mm+ wear remaining

Alloys

The Kent alloys are mint having been recently refurbished

Driving

The car drives beautifully with no nasty knocks from the suspension and the V12 engine hushes the car forward with almost silent ease. In the spirit of being as descriptive as possible I would say that when reversing there is a rattling noise from the underside of the car. The previous owner identified this and he has been advised that it is due to a noisy exhaust heat shield.

Summary

Having seen so many XJS Jaguars in my time working for a Jaguar specialist I can confidently say this is one of the best I have seen. The overall condition is stunning and it is a real pleasure to drive. I like the fact that the car seems very honest and that the same loving owner has taken care of it for 23 years; the number of invoices present in the service history speaks volumes for the way in which this car has been maintained.

The asking price takes in to account the very minor flaws listed above and the fact that the car is listed on a sold as seen basis.

I hope that this wonderful Jaguar can find a good home.
