We can't think of a better way to look both sinister and vintage than this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop with its glossy black paint. plenty of chrome. four-on-the-floor. and a small block V8 under the hood. So when you find a total package coupe like this. you know it's time to take notice.


It's hard to go wrong with a '57 Chevy hardtop. and by avoiding the two-tone treatment. this one skews more towards the look of a serious street machine. These coupes are an American icon. and so the ones done correctly draw extra attention at the car shows. That's why there was some time spent getting the brightwork correct from the beautiful bumpers. to the iconic sweeping sides. to the gold anodized pieces that are hint at the V8 under the hood. There's even a set of bright dual exhaust tips that serve as a little hint to some upgraded power under the hood. Of course. if it's aggressive accessories you want. the Cragar solid wheels are the perfect touch without losing that vintage feeling.


The black and gray interior has a great dark and bright appearance that feels like it almost mirrors the outside in both color and premium execution. The button-top pattern on the seats looks period-correct for this '57 Chevy. which always looks great. But once you get behind the wheel. you start to notice some nice upgrades. The wood and chrome Lecarra steering wheel is a nice premium touch. Plus. the knob-style radio fits nicely into the original bright chrome instrument panel. and the AM/FM/cassette unit with digital tuner is far more useful. And the items like the trio of auxiliary gauges and Hurst shifter instantly tell you that this iconic classic is also a true driver's coupe.


The Tri-Five Chevys were the dawn of the small block. but they were never given anything like this. It starts with a larger 327 cubic-inch V8. and it has been further enhanced with performance components such as an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock aluminum intake. These upgrades feed the glasspack dual exhaust that gives this Bel Air the proper power and sound you expect from one of these legends. but that's not the whole story. You are in complete control of the enhanced V8 and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. Plus. this one was built to also be a comfortable driver with features like power steering. a new power brake booster. and front disc brakes.
