1972 LEFT HAND DRIVE MGB GT. BY CARLOW ENGINEERING MIDNIGHT BLUE

Heritage certificate with the car

This car has a very good specification

I acquired it in 2004 from a friend in Aachen

It had not been used for 14 years

Swedish build and was acquired by him in 1974

And repainted Midnight Blue. no paintwork carried out since

Apart from the bonnet. which I replaced

A lot can be seen from the attached photos. but these details may help

All the following was carried out in 2005

·        Fitted with 1867 high torque engine. very drivable. good in traffic and delivers

A 112 BHP at the wheels (STD 60 BHP at wheels) by Carlow Engineering

·        The knock on wheels are on genuine factory splined hubs. NOT bolt on hubs

·        Yokohama tyres and a knock on spare to match.

·        Overhauled gearbox with competition overdrive. ally bonnet

·        Engine:- gas flowed and unleaded cylinder head. flat top fully floating gudgeon pin pistons SW5 cam shaft from my personal friends at Swiftune

·        Competition distributor. twin1¾” SUs fully refurbished on a matched to head inlet manifold

·        Fully balanced engine with HD bearings a proper breathing system. span >

3x1” engine breather pipes connecting to a hand crafted catch tank

·        Maniflow. 3 branch exhaust system with large primaries and a Maniflow

 Pipe and silencer (sounds wonderful!)

·        It has covered one thousand. eight hundred and sixty seven miles.

Since I carried out the work in 2005 and it is a joy to drive.

·        Every part of the suspension. steering from front to back has been renewed

Including. needle roller king pin thrusts. ventilated rear brakes

·        Competition springs. uprated front shocks. race anti roll bar

·        balanced prop shaft

·        Twin 12 volt batteries in parallel (new in May 2013)

·        Twin SU fuel pumps individually switched

·        Twin ignition coils. electric fan. auto with override control.

·        Ally radiator (very efficient)

·        All interior fittings. carpets. seating etc renewed

You have to see the car and have a ride from 60 – 100 mph it is very quick.

It would make an ideal rally car

I will not accept any offers. and the registration BGT 9H (transferable) goes with it

This is a lot of motor car for the money (free road tax)

If you would like a graphic detailed specification sheet. I can supply

Incidentally if you put a screw on the ‘H' - it could be BGT 911 !!

As time is not on my side. I would like to see the car go to a good home

Hi Tony - I don't know how old this advert for the MGB is, as I've been trying to find contact details for you online.
I do hope you are keeping well.
I visited you around 2004 having found you by accident in Benfleet, I think?.
I'd read up in 'Restoring Classic Cars' on the Mk1 2000 race car you'd built, then recognised the Carlow name on your business unit.
You had a Mk1 white rally shell at the same time.
I'd love to make contact with you again.
Kind regards,
Julian.
