Hello. this is my very original 1979 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2000 L that I have owned since September 2000. It was registered in April 1979. on a T registration and has covered only 15. 53 miles.
This must be one of the lowest mileage GTV's in the world. Condition is as you would expect.
I got around to registering this vehicle in my name in October 2003. It has been dry stored since September 2000 and only comes out (on the driveway) for a Wash and start up.
It is currently declared SORN (off road).
I am getting rid of a few things I no longer have an interest in. and this is one of them.
THIS IS NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE USUAL RUBBISH THAT IS OFTEN LISTED ON EBAY. This alfa needs very little to get it on the road.
Here's some information on it:I drove this vehicle for about 2 weeks September 2000 when I lived in West London. I felt that it needed to be garaged. a family member offered to let me store it in their garage in Cardiff. I drove it to Cardiff. where it has been stored ever since.
Prior to driving to Cardiff (approx 120 miles or so). I had the Carbs tuned and balanced by Alfa Aid in Old Windsor (Berks). The invoice is dated: 18/09/2000 and shows the mileage as 15. 75 miles. The mileage on the vehicle is now 15. 53 miles. This Invoice will be supplied with the vehicle.
What I recall about driving this vehicle was that it felt very solid. well balanced/ cornered well. had a healthy engine. didn't have any rattles (unlike my then 4 year old BMW 5 Series that I was driving daily which had a few) and it had a gear change that felt like new (I think I read at the time that the gear change can get sloppy in high mileage). I know that this car is capable of showing an indicated 120mph + on the speedo!!!!.

Back in 2000. I removed the carpets / sound proofing to avoid them holding moisture and causing corrosion. I havn't had time to put them back in the vehicle and the vehicle is not exactly accessible to me - I'm in London. the car is in Cardiff. I thought it would be a good idea to take photos as it is. so to show that there is no hidden corrosion.
Condition:Excellent condition throughout / generally corrosion free - see photos. Still retains white plastic protective delivery sheet on undersides of some of seats. See photo. A scratch on passenger door - has not gone through to metal. See photos. A black sticky wax oil like substance seems to have been applied before my ownership. which has contributed to preserving the shell - see photos. A scratch on rear boot edge - smeared with grease to prevent corrosion. See photo. Some bubbling / corrosion present on rear wheel arches. Prior to garaging in 2000. I washed out all potential moisture holding mud/dirt from the wheel arches. Spent approx £100 on WD40 over the years! - applied inside doors. boot area etc.
What I know it needs:Centre section of exhaust had a hole in it. This was 13 years ago. It will need a new exhaust or new sections. Brakes will need attention. It has been standing and out of use for 13 years. A new battery. It is flat and I am sure that the battery has expired. An oil change. new spark plugs and a new air filter would be a good idea. The original brown floor carpet could do with a vacuume/clean. New points - engine turns over on starter but does start. It's the points. I changed them 8 years ago to get it started. New number plates front and back with the correct 'T' 1979 plate registration number. The registration number was transferred off the vehicle many years ago. I REPEAT THE REGISTRATION NUMBER SHOWN IN PHOTOS DOES NOT COME WITH THE VEHICLE. It is on a T registration and I never got around to getting new plates made up / fitted.
I am in London and the Alfa is in Cardiff. I have no time to attend to the above. Ideally. I would address the above and sell as a on the road car. br>
What you get:100% Complete car. All carpets/interior panels. screws etc. Red paint with black vinyl interior. as per photos. 1 x new old stock (chrome heart shaped) front grill2 x new old stock passenger and driver seat headrest winder handles.
