a real quality. Swedish designed & built SAAB.   no General Motors DNA here.   built on Trollhatten main line on February 1978.   ( by Trolls).

 a collector quality. refurbished  classic that warrants consideration to add a unique car to your collection.   not many survived as most were used and abused.   not this one.   see HEMMINGS MOTOR magazine October 2016 article for a similar one. try & find one in as  nice condition.

recent comprehensive mechanical and cosmetic work to freshen everything up.

front wheel drive. nbsp; 2. 0 liter 4 cylinder factory turbocharged single overhead cam 8 valve engine with factory electronic ignition & factory oil cooler as standard for this model. with 4 wheel power disc brakes. robust double a-arm front suspension. solid beam well located rear axle all suspended with sport specification coil springs with Bilstein gas pressure shocks also standard.

undamaged front  spoiler with original rear spoiler.

starts. runs. drives & stops as it should.   

great interior with later style adjustable headrest front seats. fold down rear sear with center arm rest and removable headrests.   new headliner & dash top. nbsp; carpets cleaned & re-dyed.

all excellent original glass with exceptional windshield. new wiper blades & washer fluid.

previous comprehensive repaint in original R 06 B factory Cardinal Red Metallic using PPG brand materials.   engine bay. door jams etc. included. all glass. lights. bumpers. handles. etc. removed.

sliding sunroof operates & seals excellent. all drain tubes work correct.

new 1/4 window seals. very good door seals & belt line outside window wipe seals.   interior sun visors & all grab handles clean & secure.   front & rear bumpers in very good condition as are all mud flaps.

all ignition. door & trunk locks work great with one key operation. with extra key and special  "Inca wheel" fobs attached.

engine rebuilt.   water pump. bearings. rings. timing chain & tensioner. gaskets & seals.   cylinder head pressure tested & refurbished of course.

 great turbo with no smoke & waste gate.   updated later 900 style exhaust system.   Lambda O2 sensor & catalyst intact.   turbo hoses clean. nbsp;not oiled & seal properly.

updated CIS fuel distributor & lines.   new fuel pump & filter.   accumulator. all sensors & injectors operate correctly.   no cold or hot start issues.

butter smooth "King Kong" 4 speed syncromesh  transmission shifts perfectly with strong syncros with later 5 speed aluminum cover replacing the original tin differential cover.

new clutch with balanced flywheel.   new clutch hydraulics.

front brake calipers rebuilt with no "clunk" in reverse.   new pads.   hand brake strong & equal.

brake master excellent. cleaned & flushed. booster also excellent. all hosed inspected & good.

tight quick ratio steering rack with tight mounts & tie rod ends.   boots inspected & good.

straight alignment.   correct specification 4 Bilstein gas pressure shocks excellent.   all 4 upper A-arm bushings replaced ( only one showed some distress).   lowers inspected & excellent.   all ball joints great.   drive axles & CV joints inspected and good with good boots.

 cooling system cleaned. flushed & pressure tested.   new coolant. t-stat. cap & fan sensor. new rad hoses.

new alternator belt.   starter & alternator cleaned & tested good.   all engine area electrical connections cleaned and treated with an anti-corrosive product.

all gauges & switches work properly.   one key operates all ignition & locks.   strong heater/defroster.   rear window defroster works well.   seat heaters disconnected.   all interior lights work correct as do the exterior lights & signals.   dual electric outside mirrors.

recent new 195/60 R 15 tires on straight & true unique Turbo  "Inca" alloy wheels & center caps.   good spare with factory jack & lug wrench in trunk bag. all trunk floor boards & hatch security board clean & excellent as are other trim items.   owner's glove box manual included.

these are an edgy. quick & responsive early turbo technology performance driving cars that will put a kick in your seat & a smile on your face.

SAABs have always been a bit different philosophy sort of car.   many international & American race & rally competition championship wins such as this particular model can boast.

this car has had only break-in miles since rebuild with all fluids changed as were head torque & valve adjustment checked.  has not seen a drop of rain since year 2001 as undercarriage is clean & spotless.   almost a shame to drive it in weather.   near collector show quality as presented now.
