The car is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combination of Fiesta Red (K) over Red and White interior (XB). This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the data tag pictured below. Please peruse all of the photos. video. and other information below to get a true sense of clean and nice this Thunderbird really is.

This particular vehicle was put on loan by the previous owner to the Cincinnati Art Museum to be displayed in an exhibit highlighting iconic 1950's design. condition

Exterior

The Fiesta Red exterior is in excellent condition. As one can see in the photos. the paint has a brilliant gloss and deep shine. The chrome and other brightwork on the car looks great overall. there are a few scoffs on the side of the chrome on the spare tire. The wheels are in great shape with a nice finish and no curb rash. Original style bias ply tires are fitted on the car. They look great and give the car more correct period appearance. but they are also noticeable on the highway. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some very small blemishes around the car that are too tiny so show up in the photos. but nothing that is really noticeable from about 5 feet away. As one can seen in the many photos of the underside. this Thunderbird looks good underneath. We have also included specific photos of the rockers. lower front and rear quarter panels. and other areas on the car most prone to rust to show how nice it looks.

Interior

The 2-Tone Red & White interior of the Thunderbird looks absolutely fantastic. The seats are in excellent condition with no tears. rips. or split seams. The carpet looks terrific with no stains. rips. or holes. The door panels look great with no cracks or splits. The tonneau cover fits well and has not shrunken. The convertible soft top is in good shape overall. but does have two few very small spots. both shown in the photos below. worn through and the left rear latch is difficult to secure. The dash is in great condition with no cracks. fading. or sun damage. This car has never been smoked in and there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever.

The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the jack and correct rubber mat.

Mechanical

This Thunderbird appears to be in good mechanical condition. The engine starts right away every time. idles smooth. and runs great. It is a nice driver that feels nice on the road. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating onto the highway. shifting through all the gears. braking to a stoplight. and going through some curves. Please note that it shifts well. runs great. there are no strange noises or vibrations. and the car performs quite nice overall for a 1950's vehicle. The shifter feels good. it is tight. and the clutch feels good. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat according to the gauge. Also. the engine bay is clean. nicely detailed. and correct as one can see from the photos. The horn works as do all the exterior lights. interior light. indicators. and fan for the heater. The temperature gauge and fuel gauge work. The speedometer needs a new cable and the wiper doe snot work. It is a pleasure it is to drive this car. especially with the top down on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall. this 1956 Ford Thunderbird in nice high quality driver condition and is a true bargain at our asking price. There is no way a similar car could be purchased and restored to this level for anything near our asking price. We were told by the pervious owner that this Thunderbird was originally built and intended to be an export car. It was sold at the port in New Jersey before it was sold overseas. but that is why the speedometer is in kilometers. not miles per hour. Classic cars have proven the be a great investment over the past decade.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
