1969 1/2 Ghia - Transitional year - last year for these tail lights and front turn signals. first year for glass rear window.   12 volt generator. IRS. front disc brakes. all as original.   This car has been a labor of love for me these last 7 years.   I am the fourth owner and this car has always been in Colorado or Texas. so no rust.

Comes with original sales window sticker and assorted dealer VW post cards and literature.   Includes pretty much all service order invoices since 1970 and the first oil change invoice for $3. 78.   Just a cool history to look at and read.

I have gone through the vehicle front to back because it looked nothing like this when I bought it.   New -- includes front ball joints. adjusters welded on to original front beam. but running it stock height now. front rotors. front and rear brake pads. brake lines hoses. master cylinder. tires 1658015. front and rear heavy duty sway bars . improves handling so much better. oil shocks in front and gas shocks for the back. complete interior and top from TMI.

Definitely not a trailer queen as I drive it to local shows. cars and coffee events and around town and always get a thumbs up and a honk.   Paint is not show quality. but still good with some chips that I touch up as needed.   I had planned to take it down to bare metal and give it a quality paint. but decided to let the new owner take it to the next level as desired.

Non matching engine and trans numbers as these were just throw away parts back in the day and they would just swap another used part as needed.   Trans is stock 4-speed and never had any issues.   Engine - stock German case but built up to 2007cc with 78mm counter balance stroker crank. 90. 5 pistons. Engle 110 cam. dual Weber DCNF 40mm carbs and new clutch.   I kept the mechanicals mild for reliability but gave it just enough punch to keep up with traffic.   Torque is unbelievable.  Current mileage on engine is around 1500 miles.  I am also including another engine case and all the parts removed from the original engine if someone wanted to change back to the 1600cc version.

Pros - the car is unbelievable and a great investment.

Cons - Have receipt for bodywork from 1980 that shows LF fender and LR to have been worked on.   Somebody did a good job as it is impossible to tell. The drivers window shows abrasion where it rolls up and down and has rubbed on its rubber spacer inside the door which it does not do now.   Should be able to buff out but it is glass?  The title is free and clear but I did notice a typo on the vin - a 6 was transcribed to a 9 but all the car documentation shows the correct vin # so depending on which state you live in. it shouldn't be a problem.   I am listing the cons as I want to be completely transparent about the vehicle so the buyer does not find any surprises.

Check out all the pics.   Vehicle looks and drives even better than what you are seeing here.   I have tried to include as much info as I can remember.   Bid with confidence that you will be getting an awesome car and one that will appreciate in value over the years.   Pics show all the parts that will be include with the sale.   Extra deck lid from a 74. original seat belts. air intake system and other assorted parts that I have saved.
