1969 Plymouth GTX for sale

For sale is my 1969 Plymouth GTX.   It is powered by a 440 with an Edelbrock 4 barrel carb and Torker intake.   The engine starts easily. idles well. and runs strong.   The 727 shifts hard like it should.   The tall rear end makes this car very streetable and a nice cruiser.   I always liked the GTX but it's time to sell due to my first child being on the way.

I bought this in 2005 from Northern Illinois Classic Auto Brokers in its current form.   Shortly thereafter I had the engine rebuilt. and it has had about 500 miles put on it since.   I do not have much other history on it.   This is a genuine GTX with a clean PA title.   It is not numbers matching and the fender tag is missing.

The interior is ok for the vintage. but it's not show condition.   The repro vinyl seats are soft with no tears or cracks.   The repro carpets are clean.   The factory AC was removed before I got it. but I have the original evaporator parts and vent outlets.   I do not have the compressor or condenser.   The odometer shows 52. 62 but the car is titled as mileage exempt.   The right turn indicator doesn't return to center on its own.   I haven't had a chance to pull the steering wheel and fix the spring.   The trunk lock works fine. but the door locks are not connected.   There front seat belts are missing.   The rear end is a Chrysler 8-3/4 and the tires are 255/60R15 all around.   The fronts show almost no wear and the rears have around half tread left.

This car includes most of its original wiring. gauges. and controls.   The fuel gauge and speedometer seem to work correctly.   The ammeter does not move.   I am not sure if the temperature gauge works.   I have not attempted to move the vent and A/C controls but they seem to be stuck.   All of this is original equipment.   The aftermarket tach and radio of course work properly.   I have the original radio trim bezel which is not cut up. and would reattach easily to an original style radio.

I had to park the GTX outside for a year due to moving in 2006. and the repro rims started to rust.   There is a also a small rust pop near the driver door on the rear quarter. and a shallow ding 2/3 back on the driver rear quarter.   This car has not seen road salt as long as I've owned it. and there is no rust on the underside or anywhere else that I can find.   The glass is solid with no gouges or chips.   The GTX-specific trim is all present and clean.   It has been garage kept since 2007.   This car will transfer with antique tags to a PA buyer if interested.

I tried to be as honest as possible in the description so there are no surprises.   This is a fun 45 year old car that will put a smile on your face and get people looking.   Please ask me any questions you might have.

Please note that this car is being sold AS-IS.   Local inspections are welcome prior to purchase. and the car is also for sale locally.   The GTX can be driven home or shipped at buyer's expense.   This car is priced to move at a fair value.   Thanks and good luck!
