1977 Jeep CJ

1977 Jeep CJ5 with less than 51k miles! 
Engine has low mileage and lots of life left.   Vacuum readings at idle are around 21-1/2".   I purchased from the original owner (on Ebay) with 44k miles.   Since then I have upgraded the engine with 4. 2 to 4. 0 head swapDavis Unified Ignition Motorcraft 2150 carburetorThese upgrades have made a tremendous improvement in the power the old girl can put out.   A quick google search will yield more information than you probably care to read.   One benefit (besides increased power) of the head swap is that the jeep is now ready for fuel injection.   Going with EFI will yield some additional HP gains. as well as increased fuel efficiency.   I have been happy with the way the MC2150 has worked out. but if you want to move into the 21st century and away from the old school carbs. the option is available.  
The entire exhaust system is new.   Factory headers were installed with the head swap. and within the last year I've replaced all the pipe. catalytic converter and muffler.   Tail pipe is now routed out of the side behind the driver side rear wheel.   This helps keep the exhaust fumes from being pulled into the cab (which was an issue with the factory routing that put it straight out of the back).    
The stock suspension was upgraded with a BDS Suspension's 2-1/2" lift kit ($750). which included new leaf springs. shocks and steering stabilizer.   Jeep also has a 1/2" heavy duty shackle lift (total lift of 3").   Has 30" tires w/ less than 7k miles.   Will accommodate 33" tires.
The body is in good condition (paint job is probably less than 7 or 8 years old.   There are certainly a few blemishes here and there.   It is a '77 that's been used (not abused).   I have tried to represent the most obvious imperfections in the photos.

Finally. I'm sure someone will want to know why I'm selling.   I don't really have a great reason other than I really just don't drive the Jeep.   Three years and less than 7k miles. Seems like a shame to let this old girl just sit around with a decent amount of money. sweat and a little blood tied up in her.
