1976 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce RHD

- English Green with black vinyl interior and dark green carperts.
- According to the Alfa Romeo archives this Spider was manufactured on December 27th 1976 and was invoiced by the factory to Alfa Romeo UK in London on December 29th 1977. It was first registered for road use in England on June 2nd 1978.
- It is not known who the first owner of this Spider was. but a note in the history file attached to a copy of a previous registration documents states that the car was bought by a Peter Walker in 1979. when the car was just a year old. Mr Walker founded The Acoustical Manufacturing Company Limited in 1936. The company manufactured high quality hi-fi equipment and changed its name to Quad Electroacoustics Limited in 1983. Mr Walker retired from the company in 1988 and then registered the car in his name at his home in Cambridgeshire.
- In 1999 the car was purchased by a Nicholas Clayton of Northamptonshire. the husband of authoress Victoria Clayton. He retained the car until June 2004 when it appears that the Italian car specialist Tanc Barratt of Worcestershire sold it to a hotelier in north-west Wales. Mr Charles Dark. owner of the Wynnstay Hotel in Machynlleth. retained the car until March 2007 when Tanc Barratt sold it to a Gentleman in Yorkshire. It was this Gentleman who we purchased the car from.
- Soon after the Gentleman in Yorkshire purchased the Spider he commenced a restoration of it that finished just over a year later. The works comprised of various body repairs and a repaint in the cars original colour. as well as a new roof. and front bumper sections. New interior seat covers were also fitted over new seat base foams along with the replacement of the original rubber floor mats with carpets – a sensible alteration to standard specification as carpets allow the floor pans to dry out should they get wet. Mechanical repairs consisted of the fitting of a fantastic Alfaholics stainless steel exhaust system (including the manifold). replacing all four suspension springs and front shock absorbers. and changing the engine and gearbox mounts. The parts for these various works were supplied by many of the highly regarded companies that we are fortunate to have in this country. such as Alfaholics. Classic Alfa. Highwood Alfa. and EB Spares.
- This Spider is in very good condition and drives superbly. It has enjoyed a low number of owners and is now ready for another enthusiast to take the wheel!
