Jaguar D Type

This D Type Evocation was built simply to race and win and is quite possibly one of the most highly developed and powerful D Type Evocations ever constructed.  Built and developed upon a Brooklands / Revival Motorsport competition chassis. the specification is well beyond that of the well respected 'production Revival cars.  A regular winner in the Aston Martin Owners Club Intermarque series and Jaguar Racing series at the hands of Thornton Mustard. nbsp;excerpts in the history file show this car to be seriously competitive.
In 2008 at Mallory Park the car won the outright fastest lap of 52. 994 seconds beating 3 Ferrari's. 4 Aston Martin's  and a number of Race prepared Porsches.  Often qualifying and finishing on the podium. this D Type evocation has a proven successful history on the Circuit.
The engine is a 4. 4 litre Jaguar straight 6 with a twin plug cylinder head.  JE Pistons and fitted with steel conrods. 2 inch inlet valves with standard exhaust valves. new crankshaft and mapped ignition with DTA off the front crankshaft.  Lubrication is supplied via dry sumo.  Fuel is supplied through a fuel injection system with Jenvey throttle bodies and weber injectors. a Rob Beere flywheel transmits the power and a modified rear lip seal corrects common crank oil leaks.  Additional specification includes an oil cooler. alloy radiator and thermo electric fan.  A dyno chart supplied with the car shows an astonishing 379bhp @ 7000rpm and 352lbs of torque at 5000rpm!!
The Gearbox is a 5 speed dog box. Glebe based on a T5 unit with a Tremac casing and the Clutch is a 7 1/4 inch twin plate. The rear axle has a limited slip differential fitted with a magnesium casing and is geared to reach 135mph in top gear.
The brakes are made by Alcon and are hand assembled with a named assembler. the rear brakes differ from the standard inboard set up and have been modified and mounted outboard for ease of servicing.  The suspension comprises of a set of Penske 3 way adjustable oil and nitrogen coil overs.
The Chassis is a competition chassi developed by Revival Motorsport. the body is made of carbon fibre and the bonnet is formed from single layer carbon fibre. the car also has a full body carbon fibre under tray and splitter.
Further specification includes a full roll cage. plumbed fire extinguisher system with external firing mechanism. electrical cut out. racing battery. slave battery with external plugged connection and alloy fuel cell 
The build cost is said to be in excess of £120. 00!!!
The car is running and ready to take out for some fun. I am also including a Tremac 5 speed Road gearbox and a fibre glass bonnet in Ecurie Ecosse Blue.
