MG MGB roadster black

This solid black MGB roadster is ready to jump in and enjoy and has just completed a UK tour of some 870 miles without missing a beat.


Recent work this year includes new discs and pads. a fuel tank sender unit. front seats reupholstered including diaphragms. all fluids and filters have been renewed and points greased. This work was carried out by John Skeggs Jaguar specialist in Leicester this month. The exhaust and hood are also recently fitted new. This MGB has never been allowed to fall into disrepair and has truly been maintained regardless of cost at franchised dealers.

The service history is huge and covers estimates accounts and invoices. Copies of all previous log books. original vehicle purchase invoices. supercover passport. AA inspection report from purchase. Chequered Flag Chiswick zeibart agency guarantee and photographs complete the picture.

From 2004 until 2009 this car was registered each year on diplomatic registration plates and spent its time in Rome and all (extensive) documentation pertaining to this 5 year period including the diplomatic registration number and original certificates are included.

A new unleaded gold seal replacement engine was fitted before being shipped to Italy and this new engine has covered todate 5. 44 miles. The engine was replaced at 77. 00 miles as a precautionary measure and the speedometer was replaced at 80. 49 with another with a reading of 10. 01 all fully documented. photographed and the original speedometer has been kept along with original steering wheel and radio blanking panel. A new clutch and radiator etc. were fitted at the same time. The car is standard except for a Kenelowe fan. a Mota Lita steering wheel and the replacement seat upholstery. There are many photographs of the MGB in the file throughout its history as they were submitted to the insurance companies and owners club for valuation. All old MOTs exist to verify the mileage as genuine and it is my intention to load up a summary of each year's mileage recording and outlining the main work carried out over the next few days. The history file is enormous.

While the Mgb looks great and receives much praise from admirers it is not perfect but runs really well and any inspection is welcomed. An enthusiastic owner could really make this MGB superb with such provenance. I purchased the car one year ago from a neighbour who had been presented with the car from her father after graduation now 27 years ago.   The MGB had been called ‘Nelson' and we have enjoyed our time with the roadster while my xjsc cabriolet was being refurbished. I was keen to still have an open top sports car while off the road. The mgb is currently occasionally being used and so the mileage may increase slightly. At cost of the fuel and/or return train ticket delivery can be arranged either on a trailer or just driven to you.
