1967 Shelby GT350. #2011

Authentic and in the SAAC registry. original Lime/Black factory Automatic transmission and Air Conditioning car. Very rare…one of approx 120 with Auto/Air. 86xxx miles and with the desirable inboard headlights.

This car was completed 5/6/67 and delivered to Courtesy Motors  in Littleton. CO on 5/24/67. It went to Venezuela where it spent 30 yrs. It was then purchased by a gentleman in the Balt-DC area. I purchased it from him in 2006 in original but well worn condition. It has since received and extensive overhaul and restoration. Included are all historical documents such as the Shelby invoice and title documents.

This is one of two GT350s that I own. The other is a '66 which has been converted to a race car. Although this '67 is in stock configuration. I've employed the same “racing” detail and attitude to its refinishing. Everything is sorted and has been meticulously cared for or overhauled for reliability and safety. I'm a history buff and due to this enthusiasm for originality. I've tried to maintain original parts where ever possible. For example. the brake drums and the Monte Carlo bar are original OEM pieces that I sourced after much research. Many items that would've been cheaper to replace with reproduction pieces have. instead. been refinished and rebuilt.

Engine – All original HiPo 289 with correct date code for the car. The block has no VIN as many '67 GT350s did not when new.

Some of the older Shelby experts told me that 15 yrs ago. no Shelby cars were numbers matching. As soon as the values started to rise. every owner magically found the missing and discarded engine blocks?

Also. the sales of engine stamping kits magically started to rise.

Hmm…

It has the correct and original HiPo main caps. The heads are correct HiPo but dated from 1965. The crank is the correct and original 1M and the rods are also correct and original HiPo. The exhaust manifolds are OEM original. and the intake is a quality reproduction. Included is the original HiPo distributor also. The engine has been freshly rebuilt and runs perfectly. Exhaust system is brand new.

Ancillaries – Original alternator. starter and A/C compressor have been detailed and are fully functional. A/C system is completely intact and fully functional.

Transmission – Original C4 automatic. It has been freshly rebuilt and works well.

Differential – 9 inch with 3. 89 gears in excellent condition.

Chassis- New springs and A-Arms were installed. Orig factory pieces are included. Bushings were also replaced with correct OEM style rubber pieces. Correct Koni shocks were detailed and reinstalled. Brakes are original with new rotors. pads and drums. No squeaks. no rattles. fully sorted and road ready.

Wheels- This car came with the standard steel wheels and covers. At some point it was equipped with the Shelby 10 spokes which are in great condition. Vintage Wheelworks V45 15x7 Torque Thrust style wheels are also available if the purchaser so desires.

Body- Fresh bare metal repaint in original Lime Gold. The underside was also detailed at the same time. New factory stripe kit was installed and there were no Le Mans stripes added. These can be added at any time for the buyer if he/she chooses. I've added an OLD picture of the car with LM stripes prior to the paint work. This is shown to depict the car with them if one wanted to add them. I've heard that in the 60s. Lime was not a very popular color. Today. in 2013. the public opinion appears to have changed. I've gotten many compliments on the color. It does look fantastic.

Original trim was maintained whenever possible. For example. the windshield. door and window trim is original. The side view mirror and one door handle is original. The rocker panel shields are original as well. There are a few repro pieces such as the gas cap and bumpers. but all original pieces are included.

Interior- All original except for the carpet. instrument trim bezel and headliner. It is in excellent condition with patina consistent with the vintage. The original Italian wood wheel and underdash gauges are in excellent shape. 8000rpm tach and 140mph speedo are all present. The instrument panel trim was replaced with the original included. Original seatbelts and retractors are included. Rear seat and rear vent sliders are in great shape. Original dash is in good shape with no cracks or splits.

This is an honest and wonderful car that will bring its new owner many years of enjoyment and investment value. I could've replaced everything with shiny new. Made in China reproductions but I felt that the original pieces. refinished or detailed are more valuable to the overall experience.

The car starts instantly. and runs very. very well. There are no noises. squeaks. rattles or other issues. The brakes are firm and responsive. It is ready for any road rally or historic event.

More pictures will be added over the next week.

I have too many cars and need to pare down the fleet. Then again. I am open to interesting trades. V12 carbed Ferrari. Lamborghini. Maserati. Shelby. Detomaso. Boss 302. Aston Martin Vantage. Formula 5000. vintage F1. Benelli Sei. Ducati F1. early Porsche 911. etc.

The car is located in the Washington. DC area and available for inspection. Please contact me with any questions.
