Triumph Herald 13/60 Convertible, 1970 - Long MOT for sale
Regretfully for sale as we are now both retired and can no longer justify keeping two cars and a motorbike. This is a genuine convertible with its original engine and gearbox and in its original paint colour Damson which really suits the car and is much admired.
The car was restored in 2011 after many years off the road. There is a full photographic record of the panel work. which was carried out to a high standard - not full of filler like some. Since then the car has been in daily use and has been taken to various car shows and rallies. Last summer we drove it down through France to the Mediterranean coast and across the Pyrenees – a total of 2. 00 miles. averaging 41mpg with two up and all our camping gear and tool kit. Apart from breaking a speedo cable it gave us no trouble at all and kept up well with modern traffic and mountain roads. The story of this road trip was published in Club Triumph magazine.
The car is now 43 years old and is not concourse and not perfect – if it was it would be worth a lot more – but it is a real head turner and enormous fun to drive. Parts for these cars are still quite cheaply available. unlike some classics. We have fitted a modern CD/Radio under the dash and some lovely chrome map lights from Jaguar. The wooden steering wheel must have been an expensive option when the car was new. same one as fitted to the old E Type.
Comes with history file and restoration photo CD.
If you are interested please phone for a chat and we can send more photos and video if required.
