This 2005 A4 quattro S Line (Ultrasport) 1. 8t 6 speed manual is a not quite finished work in progress.  It has  AWE GT28 turbo Stage 3 engine mods with an 034 Hi Flow Cat and AWE exhaust system.  I bought the car in late December 2012. which means. shockingly. that I've had it 4 1/2 years.  It came with 72. 65 miles on it. and I have added not quite 5000 miles.  It was the ninth out of state car I have purchased. and the only one frustrating in terms of getting to my standard. (I have six Audi's including an '83 quattro turbo coupe. and RS2 modified '95. 5 S6 avant. two 2004 Ultrasports and two modified B7 A4 quattro S lines. ) This car was advertised to be in excellent condition and the pics seemed to show that. but.  I meant to use it as a track car. but it was too nice. despite numerous shortcomings. It is much improved now. but some auxiliary items. such as the stereo. are currently unfinished.  Please read all the details below.
Moro Blue & Black; the first S line. as the 2004 Ultrasport was renamed and the steering wheel had the S line emblem added. New S4 front bumper. so front end has fresh paint. S4 mirror caps.     Originally purchased in Texas. Owner #2 in Washington did the performance mods at about 25k miles and since the timing belt is not the original. my assumption is that it was replaced at that time. Third owner on Long Island. clearly not an Audi guy. I bought it from him.
Engine mods:AWE GT28 turbo conversion. downpipe. Replaced a bypass pipe with a new 034 Hi Flow Cat. AWE non resonated exhaust; a bit loud. but nice.  Easy enough to add a resonator. if desired. Great looking pipes!Southbend Stage 3(?) clutch; stiff. but driveable in Houston trafficWater/methanol injection. Forge Blow off Valve.  AMD Tuning Oil Catch Can. K&N Cone Filter IntakeHad the tune redone (Unitronic) and a new manual boost limit control valve installed. Front mounted intercooler; replaced a way oversized unit with a better fitting and more efficient unit. New R8 red top coil conversion installedI put on B7 A4 front brakes. w/ drilled and slotted StopTech rotors. Hawk HPS pads on all four corners. Surprisingly. stock sport suspension. but I imagine it had other pieces on it at one time.  I have a Bilstein PSS9 coilover setup I pulled off one of my B7's that I was thinking of putting on. but never got around to it as it wasn't to be a track car.
There is an on board datalogger that worked sporadically and a turbotimer that were pulled after determining that they. and other things like the stereo. had been wired as by an 18 year old on raging hormones.  Easy to see why there was a battery drain; not any more. I have not installed an acquired used ash tray unit in place of the data logger and a new cupholder for where the turbotimer was installed.
The stereo powers up. but is currently not functioning. as the amp and subwoofer are disconnected.  It has a high end Pioneer AVIC-Z1 double DIN Bluetooth/NAV unit. which needs a better install and rewiring to be done right.   Uprated speakers.  Pulled a 12" woofer from the trunk. but it goes with the car.  Kenwood amp also needs to be reinstalled.
In the glove compartment. which has a repaired hinge. you will find a Sony PlayStation.  Not my generation. so I won't even go there. Considering the Logitec wireless controller left plugged in. I guess someone enjoyed playing games.
The leather interior is in fantastic shape.  The interior trim; aluminum in the S line/Ultrasport. has been covered with some of the best looking blue-black carbon fiber I have ever seen. Beautiful.  The stereo console is wrapped in plain black 'carbon fiber' fabric.  The console latch is broken. but I have a complete replacement unit. not just a cover. in hand.
The aftermarket window tint was unacceptable. so I had new tint installed by the same experts that did my urquattro. S6 and B7 A4q Titanium edition. Texas regulations require at least 25% VLT for the front windows; the back and rear are darker.
Paint is in very good condition for a 12 year old car. with some minor wear. but lustrous and smooth.  About time to clay and wax again.  Two small. odd ball peen hammer size dents in the rear that can probably be popped out. They don't show up well in pics but one is on an upper surface and one is on the back of the trunk lid. The grill was wrapped black and is faded and peeling.  I have a black emblem-less RS4 type unit that will be included; I didn't like it on the car.  S4 mirror caps were added at some point. The window trim shows some wrinkling. I guess from the installs. but ???.
The Ultrasport front bumper and the headlights were in substandard shape. While I like the USP look. the bumper does project a lot of frontal area. and I decided to replace it with an S4 unit. to go with the aluminum/SS-look S4 sideview mirror caps.  I sourced a good set of used lights and new mounts and had them installed with a better intercooler. As such. the front end has new paint. Still missing. though. are fog lights (one in hand) and grills. I also have a set of S4 door sills somewhere from a previous project.  The Carfax originally received was. inaccurate.  A current one is still incorrect. but shows that there were minor accidents in Washington on 01/03/2007 and 01/20/2007. nbsp;and another on 06/28/2008. Another one in New York on 03/24/2011. All minor. as evidenced by the items that were replaced.  Nothing major; front end bumps. Cracked and scraped bumper skin. a broken headlight tab and mounts; nothing else I could find.  I can send the Carfax. which also shows me having the TX title issued on 04/19/2013. although I bought it and filed for the title in December 2012.  It shows the car being serviced in New York on 04/20/2013. not likely! It shows a failed emissions inspection here in Texas. which was an intermittent miss. and resulted in the coil upgrade.
Wheels are Hartman RS4 replicas; 18" x 8". +32 offset. Nice looking. but all with minor scrapes. Unfortunately. when I took the car in to get the wheels rotated and balanced a couple of weeks ago. the tech noticed a slight bump in the right front wheel; too small to be felt. and also a slight crack in the left front wheel; quite likely courtesy of the mechanic who had the car last. as there were no issues when I swapped tires onto them 4600 miles ago. Not the best roads near the shop. and I'm sure he had to test the new tune. The cracked wheel has a very slow leak. as might be expected; 1. 5 psi over two plus weeks.  Tires are Hankook Ventus Evo's and tread was measured at 5/32" to 6/32" depth.  I'd plan on replacing them after one more season.
With the low mileage. very nice interior and excellent paint. I just could not make this a track car.
So the car needs some TLC to get to full on togetherness. but the big things have all been taken care of and it's a lot of fun to drive. I just have too many cars and my priorities have changed over the years.  Would like to see it go to someone who can work on the car and get it together themselves. as I intended to do.  Work commitments meant that I paid to have most work done. so I am ridiculously upside down on the car. but the right owner will definitely enjoy it.
Feel free to ask any questions.  NADA pricing below.  Kelly Blue Book pricing in pics. I put in the Good Condition pricing; $6391.  More like Very Good. which is $6. 65.
Price is below 'book' and somewhat negotiable.  It's a nice low mileage car with fun mods that some TLC will make even more enjoyable.  I'd like to move it out and clear some space. so make me an offer.  ValuesSpecificationsPicturesReviews & RatingsSafetyValuesCPO PricingCPO Incentives & DealsCost to OwnCalculate PaymentsValuesPrint Rough
