Ford Escort mk1 modified stunning car

Here for sale is mine and my brothers beloved mk1 escort that we restored ourselves between 2011 and finally on the road spring of 2013. was originally an 1100 shell found in a barn and had been off the road since july 1995. over the best part of 2 years it was completely stripped and had hew floor pans. rear arches. front strut towers. full length expressed panels inner wing tops. type 49 strut top plates. landing panel. steel mexico style front wings and loads more other repairs. all were cut completely out and fully welded back in. we have a fully photographic diary of all the work. it was then professionally painted inside and outside underneath etc in ford mercury grey as seen on rs turbos sierra cosworths etc of the 80s/90s

Current spec is as follows:

Engine. overbored 2. 0 pinto 2050cc rebored new pistons rings etc. reground lightened and balanced crank. lightened flywheel. ported and polished head. huge stainless steel valves with unleaded inserts. newmans PH4 camshaft with vernier pulley. twin 40 dcoes with 36mm chokes. rs2000 sump mounts and bellhousing. 4 branch manifold. big alloy radiator electric fan and bestek ignition system. not been rolling roaded but in region of 140 BHP. stainless twin box powerflow exhaust

Gearbox. type 9 5 speed with quickshift. new seals and gaskets etc. single piece rs2000 propshaft. retro ford crossmember

Front struts are 2. 0 capri with coil over conversion. spax adjustable inserts. alloy roller top mounts. 2. 8 capri vented discs and twin cam anti roll bar with double width kit

Rear axle is from a 307e Anglia van. with anti tramp bars. spax adjustable shocks and rear disc conversion. axle is narrower just enough to tuck the 7x13 superlights under the rear arches. no LSD unfortunately

Inside it has black trim through out with with 6 dial clocks and rs style steering wheel. bias brake pedal box

All in all a stunning mk1 escort loads of other bits and pieces ive probably forgotten to mention such as new window rubbers etc. any questions feel free to ask

Couple of minor bad points. the speedo doesn't work correctly. I fitted the longer cable for it unknowing that the speedo was seized! I have replaced the speedo but not got round to doing the cable!

Also it now has a dent on the o/s/r quarter as the barn door that I keep the car in got caught by the wind and swung round and hit it. I have been told it will cost around £100 to put right but it means removing the petrol tank as it is right next to the filler cap

I have put a high price on here to start. I am open to negotiation but I will not be giving the car away as in my opinion it is one of the best around. /p>
