Thanks for viewing our 1973 Stag. I bought this for my partner just a few months ago and have done some work to it but she has decided that she now needs a jeep so I am now selling her (the stag not the misses)

It has a current MOT till July 15th 2014 and is also taxed for 6 months as of the start of October. so she is ready to hop in and drive away.

The car is fitted with a 3L V6 Ford Essex engine which is sooo much more reliable that the original stag engine which had its numerous issues. When I got hold of it. it had a cracked head and was running on 5 cylinders So we fully serviced the engine. replaced the set of heads. gaskets. plugs leads etc etc. also had a new alternator fitted. oil filter and change. I've fully charged the battery. The engine also has an up rated new radiator and fan.

In addition the brakes have been checked and the tires are all good. The car came with only 1 wing mirror so I've fitted a new set. and replaced any missing bits of external trim.

Also worth noting its an automatic not manual

Comes with usual stag extras such as power steering. electric windows which all work fine.

All gauges inside are working and comes with a CD player

Nice number plate. which was valued at £300

Jack and spare wheel are all there and the chrome work is in pretty good condition especially the bumpers (re-chroming is now really expensive)

Comes with hard top for the winter (which we have not removed. and I've not looked at the soft top yet)

Few bad bits worth noting

 1. he exhaust rattles when cold and has been patched up. could do with replacing at some point but not for a while if you wish

2. The fuel gauge needs a new sender. the bit that sits inside the fuel tank to tell you how much petrol you have although it works when it registers a quarter of a tank left it really means its empty. so either needs a new unit or adjusting (a new unit is £35 complete and fits in 5 mins. old one screws out and new one drops in. very easy diy fix)

3. Sun visor drivers side missing

4. Wheel nut bolts little rusty (a full new set for the car would be £40. or could spray them) again another easy diy fix.

5. Although ive charged the battery. she could do with a new one at some point.

Overall the car does require some work both inside and out and would make either a great daily driver or basis for a rolling restoration. But she is all complete. solid and a pretty nice drive. I have shown on pics the chips in the paintwork as best I can. nbsp;

I think if you spent 3-4k on this car you could get it to a very good classic show standard or just fun to drive as is.

The stag is a great entry level classic car as its British. meaning parts are cheap and easy to get hold of.

We are based in Brighton and advise to come view before buying and I have listed the car as honest as possible. Could deliver for a cost.

Advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to remove if sold.

Deposit of £200 to secure and then contact within 3 days to arrange a pick up (we are right next to the station and as she's taxed can be driven away)

Sold as seen and described.

Open to offers; if you need any more info please email me. Thanks

No part ex…. Unless it's a Jeep ha!
