Alfa Romeo launched a completely new design to the public for 1963 model year. The new Guila Sprint Coupe’ was introduced on an all new 105-series platform and draped in gorgeous bodywork by the famous Giorgetto Giugaro then at Bertone. The new model was an instant success and offered excellent performance and handling with a 5-speed manual transmission. In 1967 Alfa launched their top end model. the GTV (Gran Turismo Veloce) which offered many standard features and higher levels of performance. The last generation was the 2000 GTV with the largest output engine of 1926CC and 129-hp. Many Alfa enthusiasts say the 2000 GTV is the most civilized and most fun to drive of all of the GTV’s produced. 1974 was the final year for the GTV in the United States making this model a rare and desirable GTV

European Motor Studio is proud to offer this stunning 1974 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV Coupe’ chassis number 3024626 for sale in a gorgeous shade of dark red over a tan leather interior. The car was purchased new in San Leandro California and has largely remained in the Bay area its entire life. The car has been serviced by the famous Griswold and Co in Berkley and has been in the hands of well-known Alfa Romeo specialist Glen Oliveria and Jon Norman. This Alfa Romeo had been sitting for more than 20 years due to SPICA problems until the last few years when the car underwent a full bare metal respray in its original color (all documented on a CD). The entire interior has been completely restored. with brand new carpets. a new correct headliner that is factory correct. New leather seats were completely redone in the correct pattern. the dashboard is in excellent condition. all of the trim is in beautiful condition. all of the chrome looks near perfect. and the real wood trim is beautiful. All of the mechanics have been sorted or rebuilt including the head. crankshafts disassembled and the SPICA injection completely rebuilt and tuned to proper specifications. The transmission was removed and completely rebuilt. the radiator was removed and rebuilt. all new brakes. brake lines. oil lines. coolant hoses. fuel lines. plugs. wires. and brand new tires. Driveshafts were rebuilt; all the synchros were redone. the gas tank removed and re coated. a new fuel pump and filters were installed. All of the work that has been done to the car was done properly using only Alfa Romeo parts and all work done by a trained Alfa Romeo technician. All of the work has been completely documented with paperwork on everything done. including some records dating back from previous ownership. This Alfa Romeo sits at the proper US spec ride height and has a correct suspension. the car has a precise and comfortable ride. There are no creaks or rattles going over any bumps or going down the road. It handles incredibly well. the steering feels very precise and tight. There is no play in the wheel at all. the car drives in a straight line and does not drift or wonder. The brakes feel excellent; the car stops on a dime and does not have any fade. The transmission feels excellent. the car shifts through all of the gears and free from any grinding or hunting. The ventilation fans in the car work. the windshield wipers work. all of the interior lights work. the dash lights work. and windows roll up and down with ease. the door locks work without problem. and the car has a period correct 8-track player. All of the gauges work and read correctly. the speedometer is a little slow to catch up and off by about 10 mph. All of the glass is perfect and clear without any pitting. The exterior chrome looks beautiful and free from any pitting or hazing. All of the rubber trim looks excellent. the badges look great. the wheels are free from any curb rash or scratches and the tires are brand new. The engine bay looks near perfect; all of the parts that were rebuilt or replaced were detailed to a very high standard. All of the exterior lights work. the brake lights. turn signals. side marker lights. headlights and fog lights. are all working. Only real flaws in the car is a scratch right underneath the windshield on the driver side that looks like it was touched up. It is not very noticeable unless you look at it up close. There are a couple small imperfections inside the chrome grill on the front of the car. otherwise the chrome still has a very nice shine to it. The trunk looks almost new. the spare tire is present with its cover. the mat looks new and there is absolutely no rust or corrosion of any kind. The whole entire body of the car is laser straight. the undercarriage and floors are completely rust free. This is a beautiful Alfa Romeo GTV. in absolutely exceptional condition. The car runs and drives impeccably and free from any mechanical problems. If you are looking for a completely rust free well documented example that has seen exceptional care over the years with a recent cosmetic and mechanical rebuild in the right colors. this is it.
