This is an extraordinary 1969 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow with extraordinary history and 12k original low miles! Full provenance and service records! This Rolls-Royce starts instantly with a turn of the key and is capable of serving as a daily driver in its present condition. I have every confidence that this vehicle could drive across the country and back. The car has been completely inspected by a certified Rolls-Royce service company as well as an exotic interior specialist to confirm condition and authenticity. It has been fitted with four brand new tires within the past three months. Read on for details.

This Silver Shadow was sold new by Imported Motor Car Company of Montclair. New Jersey to Father Joseph D. Regan of Chateau Perigord. Monte Carlo. Monaco on 12/19/1969. The vehicle toured France and was brought back to the United State aboard the Queen Elizabeth II luxury cruise liner.

Father Regan consigned the vehicle to Vintage Car Store of Nyack. New York where the vehicle was in turn sold to Dr. Theron I. Lane on 01/02/1971 for $16. 95. Dr. Lane had the vehicle's initial 3. 00 mile factory service annotated in the service manual & performed on 04/05/1971 with 3. 45 miles by Imported Cars of Greenwich where the coolant gauge was checked for sticking as well as the low speed setting on the air conditioning blower switch.

Dr. Lane has a $394 service receipt in his name dated 05/14/1983 with 09. 78 miles from Victor's Imported Car Service Rolls-Royce/Bentley of Nyack. New York where some hoses and fluids were exchanged. Dr. Lane and his wife were import automobile enthusiasts and regularly drove a Bentley T and Mercedes 450 SEL according to their son. Theron I. Lane Jr who acquired the vehicle upon the death of his father.

The son provides a signed narrative of his father purchasing the vehicle in 1971 from Father Regan. his father having likely never driven the vehicle in rain. his father passing and the vehicle being driven from New York to South Carolina where it subsequently entered storage around 1993/1994 for a period of approximately 13 years. There is a copy of a South Carolina title dated 07/23/1991 issued in the name of Theron I. Lane of Hilton Head Island. South Carolina with actual miles listed at 10. 00. There is also a New York state safety inspection sticker on the windshield dated as expiring 04/11/1994 with a listed mileage of 10. 75 on the sticker. The term RO/RO is also on the sticker. typically meaning Roll-On/Roll-Off. so the vehicle may have been brought by boat to the inspection station from Hilton Head Island.

Theron I. Lane Jr. son of Dr. Theron I. Lane then sold the vehicle on 03/20/2006 to Mr. George Simpson of Tampa. Florida where he confirms the vehicle has been in storage for approximately 13 years and that the vehicle has true and actual miles of 11. 30 at the time of sale.

It is quite evident that the vehicle had been in storage for an extended period of time. as Mr. George Simpson has extensive service records in the months immediately following his purchase of this Silver Shadow in 2006. The service records are all in his name and are for replacing all fluids. hoses. some gaskets. cleaning the carbs etc. all standard items you would expect to be replaced on a vehicle being stored for more than a decade. Mr. Simpson has additional service records in his name from February and November of 2008 for a resistor or some sort and anti-freeze from Bentley of Tampa and Charlie's British Cars of Tampa. Florida.

Both Mr. and Mrs. George Simpson had passed away by 09/14/2011. and we have legal records conveying this Silver Shadow as part of the estate left to Linda Rogut (also of Tampa. Florida) by Mrs. George Simpson. The Florida title dated 03/30/2006 for this vehicle has Mr. & Mrs. Simpson listed as the owners of the vehicle and is signed off by Linda Rogut as the representative of their estate. The last service record is listed as 07/28/2012 with mileage of 12. 01 for four new tires balanced and installed with 65. 00 mile warranty.

To conclude. this vehicle has had three adult male driver's throughout its history: First being Father Joseph D. Regan of Monte Carlo. Monaco; second being Dr. Theron I. Lane of Nyak. New York and last being Mr. George Simpson of Tampa. Florida. The last two owners both passed away while owning the vehicle and left the car to relatives who either immediately stored or sold the car. There is no period in history for which ownership and possession of this vehicle is unaccounted!

As to the present state of the vehicle. the interior is exceptional with virtually no wear! The lacquer is original upon all wood trim and has no cracking! There are no holes. rips. tears. stains or foul odors! The steering wheel looks brand new! No wear on the seat belts! Stitching is perfectly intact!

The engine is clean enough to eat off! The valve covers were removed by a Rolls-Royce service company to inspect for wear and authenticate the mileage! The undercarriage is spotless with original undercoating that looks brand new! No dirt or wear! The engine idles smoothly. makes full power. has no leaks and produces no odd sounds! The transmission shifts flawlessly! All power options work; however. the driver's window motor has been disconnected due to intermittent stoppages. The air conditioning works intermittently. and the Rolls-Royce service shop said it will likely need a new Harrison body compressor that can be aquired at any local auto parts store. One brake light is illuminated due to a leaking left side rear leveler master cylinder. It will need to be rebuilt in order to remedy the leak and the light. There are a few blemishes in the paint where it appears it was buffed in two spots and some touch-up used in a couple others. There are no dents. dings or scratches. The chrome is outstanding.
