Outstanding Driver Quality! Older Restoration. A Classic. Ready for Summer Fun for sale
The 1965 MGB is the last of the pull handle B's and the first of the 5 main bearing engines. There were only 3. 17 manufactured. making it the rarest and most valuable model year. This is an outstanding example of a daily driver quality MGB. I purchased this car 3 years ago as an older restoration. it has been garage kept and and unfortunately barely driven in that time . There is no documentation but close inspection denotes. rebuilt engine (excellent compression. virtually no leaks and no smoke on start up). 2 new fenders. new floor panels. new jacking points. new doglegs. new exhaust system. new springs. new interior. rebuilt calipers. To make it a more practical daily driver it has been converted to 12V negative ground with electronic ignition. racing battery switch and external jump plugs for the battery.
There is no rust or bondo anywhere on the car. excellent chrome. and black leather interior. Runs perfect. The paint looks great from 5 feet. There are a few road chips and minor dings. nothing significant. There is some poor prep work along the seams on top of the rear quarter panels. Just a great car. you can drive every day and if inclined. nice enough to enter at your local car show.
There is a spare also mounted on a wire wheel. with correct jack and rubber mallet. There is a top. frame and boot cover. The top material and plastic windows are in near new condition. However. there is a small slit (1") near where the top sits on the wind screen. It is easily repairable. if you're inclined to drive in inclement weather.
These cars are continuing to increase in value. If you are in the market for a collectable but drivable "B" it doesn't get much better than this.
