I am selling my beloved classic Citroen Light 15 with walnut dashboard and leather seats. One of only 22. 00 British built Traction Avants. which had Lucas 12V electrics and right-hand drive.  This is the much more attractive and rarer small-boot (pre 1953) variety. Mechanically very sound. having been used until 2008 for my daily commute into London. so any problems that arose during those years were resolved. leaving a VERY reliable. VERY stylish vehicle.

She is a joy to drive. I like to count the number of people who say Wow! when they see her go by in the street.

She is unrestored and I have tried to keep her as original as possible whilst making her a practical everyday car. The following are some of the improvements made:
-Flying lady mascot
-Electronic ignition
-Alternator to replace the old dynamo
-Complete engine rebuild in 2008 with (I believe) ID cylinder head. The engine runs really well.
-Converted to run on unleaded petrol
-Indicators fitted (the trafficators still work though!)
-Power socket (cigar lighter) and radio fitted
-Hidden battery isolator switch
-10x31 crown wheel fitted (improved gear ratio)
-New wiring loom
-3 rear seat belts

As with any car of this age there are always things that I would like to fix. The main things to be aware of that spring to mind are:
-Although she is lovely she could do with a respray at some point
-There are small areas of rust on the front wings. which can easily be fixed. She has been kept in a dehumidified garage for the last ten years or so though so there has been minimal deterioration over that period. I have shown a photo of the very worst area to give an indication. The front right wing is similar but a little better.
-The original leather seats are a little tired
-At the moment the brakes squeal a bit at times due to the brake linings that were fitted two or three years ago. This is not a problem with the car itself and can be fixed easily with new brake linings.
-The current registration is NOT included in the sale- I am selling this separately. She will be given an age-appropriate registration by the DVLA. This may take a little time to sort out but am working on it now.

I have thousands of pounds worth of bills showing all the work I have had done on her. which accounts for far more than her value. She sailed through her latest MOT on 7/10/13.  I use Classic Restorations on the Old Kent Rd for regular servicing and maintenance.

I'll throw the tax disc in for free (the tax is free anyway!). Please note that the odometer has gone round the clock and of course I can't guarantee the accuracy of the mileage anyway.  As a pre-1960 vehicle she is exempt from needing an MOT but I have had her tested anyway to give the buyer piece of mind and to transfer the number plate.  I am asking £8. 00 as it is in such good mechanical condition for a car 63 years old.  There may be some scope for negotiation though.  Please contact me on 07803 246177 to arrange a viewing.  Buyer will need to collect within 5 working days of cleared funds.  The car is advertised elsewhere so may be withdrawn.  Please note that I already have a number of people interested.

Hi,

Just wondered if your car is still for sale? Do you have any history on the car, what is it like underneath and mechanically?

Best regards
