Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.05) based on 189 votes
I am selling my 1972 Porsche 914. This was my primary car for years but new situations required a more modern car and I don't want to own two cars. So. the Porsche is up for sell.
The Good: The car has been meticulously maintained by mechanics at AutoAtlanta. It runs wonderfully and has been well taken care of since I bought it. It was previously owned by a Porsche mechanic. who also took good car of it. Everything in it works and there is very little to no rust damage. The hell-hole is extremely clean and rust free.
It has a new paint job within the last two years. The color is Viola Peal. which is an original Porsche color and the color of the car when I bought it. The original color was yellow (which can still be seen under the hood). The new paint job included all new rubbers and the likes.
Other recent work include full carburetor rebuild (compression was checked as well and all is fine). new blower motor. new trunk lock. new ignition. new battery. new front brakes and lines on all brakes. and a few other items.
The interior of the car is in excellent shape and the cloth seats are original. The only thing I added was a blue tooth enabled CD/MP3 player.
The Bad: There are very few bad things about this car. but I list minor annoyances below in the spirit of full discloser.
The trunk stays open with the help of Ping 3 iron. I will include it with the car. A trunk pivot kit should be installed. but I never got around to it (the 3 iron works really well).
It has a molded dash cap. I have no idea what the underneath looks like. It looks wonderful with the dash cap.
The dashboard panel is unglued in some parts and needs to be re-glued. I tried a few suggestions. but didn't have a lot of long term luck.
The latches on the targa top can rattle a bit. Tape cuts down on this. but they should be dipped in polyurethane or something more permanent.
The emergency brake is not 100%
It could use a new front bumper pad.
I am uncertain about the mileage on the car.
The Ugly: Nothing.
