Offered for sale is this classic 1979 Volkswagen Van. This van recently served as the spokesmobile “Steely Van” for the National Museum of American Jewish History's special exhibition “Bill Graham and the Rock & Roll Revolution” (NMAJH. org/BillGraham. or #GrahamRocks) which should explain the fun psychedelic paint job. designed by artist Charles Barbin of Philadelphia's Mural Arts Program and painted by members of the public. Band names include: Grateful Dead. Jimi Hendrix. Janis Joplin. Jefferson Airplane. and the Allman Brothers.

It has the traditional fuel injected 2. 0 liter engine and manual transmission. Recently has gotten a new battery and some tune ups. It starts and runs but does occasionally stall out and is in need of a new exhaust hose. Per my mechanic it will need injectors at some point or you can convert to carburetor. it's fine for around town but does show some hesitation under acceleration. It is currently missing one hubcap. Odometer shows 114. 21 and hasn't moved since we got it; the speedometer does work.

The van was purchased from an owner in Massachusetts. who got it from Louisiana. before that it was sold through a Midwest classic car dealership that purchased it out in California. That means it doesn't have the typical north east salt damage. Floors and rockers are solid. It does have the rust spot underneath the windshield which is very common with old buses and has been temporarily sealed to prevent rain damage. There is also a dent on the right rear side (picture shown before paint job for detail).

If you'd like a picture of something that is not shown let me know and I will do my best to accommodate.

All proceeds benefit the Museum.
