1983 Skoda 105 L

I'm re-listing because last buyer "got into an accident" and could not finalize the transaction. Please bid only if you are ready to buy and will not  make silly excuses.

1983 Skoda 105L Rear-engine. Czechoslovakian-built 4 door sedan.

This 105L is a low mileage. no rust example of once ubiquitous car that is now quickly disappearing from the Eastern European automotive landscape.   In the Soviet-block countries. Skoda had a reputation for building reliable and tough cars. Once the iron curtain fell the old communist-era cars were quickly replaced by used but much newer and technologically advanced cars from the West.

It is becoming more and more difficult to find decent examples of Skoda. Trabants. Wartburgs and other cars that once dominated the markets of  Eastern Europe.

This car is a survivor. The interior looks brand new. While the exterior does have some scars and bruises it is. most importantly – rust free. On top of that it is also mechanically sound.   It was owned by an elderly man in Poland who didn't drive it much. The car was always garaged and treated to rust proofing when new. The odometer shows only 7. 71 kilometers.  I could not verify that it is correct mileage but it does not seem likely that it rolled over either. judging by the condition of the interior and mechanical systems.  

The Skoda had some body work done to the front right-hand corner.   Looks like new front panel and new fender were installed and the entire front clip repainted.   

The car drives without problems. When it arrived in the US I had a mechanic go through the cooling system. brakes and carb.   The car starts and drives fine but for full enjoyment I would replace the original Jikow carb with a small Weber. common upgrade on these cars.

This car has some door dings and couple of soft dents in the roof.   Nothing big and could be corrected by paintless dent removal.

Tires were replaced prior to shipping from Poland.   All import paperwork was done and I have a clean Illinois title.

This car is ready to be driven.   I'm sure it would generate quite a stir at a local car show or elicit nostalgic comments from Eastern Europeans who grew up in the “Old Country”.
