We are proud to present this 1968 Mercury Cougar.  This customer owned. solid Arizona car was completely gone through approximately 10 years ago.  No expense was spared to bring this beauty to its current condition.  It has been well maintained since restoration was completed and was a regular attendee of many local car shows.  The solid Arizona body was taken to bare metal. straightened then painted with a mild custom two tone paint scheme to make the car stand out from the crowd.  The vinyl top still looks brand new and the chrome bumpers and trim are straight and beautiful.  On the inside. everything was updated or replaced as well.  The seats received new black factory covers and the carpet. headliner and XR7 embroidered floor mats were also replaced.  There is a new black faced dash and dash pad to modernize the look as well as an updated center console with integrated cup holders.   The Ford 302 engine was just completely rebuilt and is ready for years more cruising.   The engine is topped off with an Edlebrock intake. carburetor. valve covers. air cleaner and a healthy sounding aftermarket cam.  Ignition is provided by a complete MSD system including distributor. coil and 6A control box.  Exhaust routes through cast iron manifolds to true dual pipes with turbo style mufflers for a low throaty sound.  The C4 automatic transmission shifts firm and smooth as it should.  The suspension has been gone through with new springs and shocks. including air shocks in the rear for height adjustment.  Modern 17" Edlebrock wheels are wrapped in Kumho Ecsta tires with lots of tread left.  There are lots of extra parts. books. documentation. and restoration pictures that come with the car including front and rear spoilers.  This is a well preserved car that gets lots of looks and attention. runs and drives great and will provide its next owner years of enjoyment.
