Welome to my auction for my 1990 Series 3 Daimler Double Six. nbsp;a car I aquired on the 31/12/2010. As a complete petrol head. and serial e-bayer. I have been disappointed more times that I have been pleased when I have arrived to collect my new purchase. so on the morning after a Xmas party. I began to regret my drunken ebay antics of the previous evening. anticipating yet another waste of hard earned cash! True. the car looked good in the pictures (don't they all!!) but I really didnt want another pile of Jaguar's finest rust on my drive. and more importantly neither did the wife. Well for once luck was on my side. and when I arrived at the vendors house I was extremely happy with what I saw. This is a very late series 3 DD Six. made after the official end of series 3 production. Its a special order car. made for the Managing Director of Coca Cola in Europe. He clearly had fine taste. chosing cranberry red as the exterior colour. I drove the car home to Lincolnshire from Essex on New Years eve. and it didnt miss a beat. Since then I have done very little mileage. around 3k since it became mine. and given that I am working abroad more frequently. the sensible thing to do is to pass it on to somene else who will enjoy using this fine car. Since aquiring it I have had all 12 spark plugs replaced. and it has had all new belts. a new coil. a new manifold to exhaust gasket and a ball joint. It has also had a recent oil change. Coolant is clean. and it uses no water.  It runs extremely well. with a very smooth engine and gearbox. Again. being picky. there is a minor whine from the diff on the over run. Most importantly. the car does not overheat. The picture of the temperture gauge was taken at the end of a 25 mile run. and its right where it should be.

Externally. the paintwork has an excellent shine. There are some minor rust bubbles on the bottom of two doors. and one on a rear arch. In addition. there are signs of the usual corrosion starting around the base of the screen. on the drivers side. and a minor bubble at the base of the rear screen. but all of these are very treatable. and the car is not a rust bucket. Having had 4 other series 3 V12's I appreciate just how crusty they can get. and this car still turns plenty of heads. The chrome is excellent.

The interior is superb. The wood has a lovely deep colour and the varnish is excellent. The leather is very clean. with no rips or tears. There are two tiny nicks on one of the front seats but I am being very picky. The headline is not saggy but would benefit from a gentle clean. All electric windows are working. The only gizmo that has recently stopped working is the cruise control.  There is a Jaguar radio cassette fitted. and the electric ariel works. The car retains is sheepskin floor rugs. There is a Moto Lita steering wheel fitted.

The car rides on decent Pirelli tyres all round. and the alloy wheels are in great condition. The boot is clean and the Jaguar tool kit is intact.

I've owned lots of different classic cars but there is something about the series 3 shape that I find very attractive. This example is very tidy given that its 23 years old and I know that should I ever want a 6th Double Six. I will have to look for a long time and pay a lot more.

I have the drivers handbooks that the car came with. plus the service log book. To give an idea of recent mileages. the following informtion is taken from the MOT certificates.

18/9/2006 141. 69 miles

2/4/2007 142. 82 miles

22/4/2008 143. 34

30/5/2009 147. 96

01/07/2010 148. 00

16/12/2011 150. 80

3/7/2013 151. 48

Since last listing the car has had oil. filter and antifreeze change.

The car is taxed to the end of December. as has an MOT until July of 2014. Questions will be answered. however I will have irregular acess to my email over the weekend. Now the boring bits:

no tyre kickers. my time is valuable to me.

no payment by cheque.

no overseas despatch.
