1991 BENTLEY TURBO R 6.75 Litre V8 collectors car, Weddings and Prom

This is my beautiful BENTLEY TURBO R in what I would say is the best colour combination Balmoral Green with cream leather interior. The bodywork is in very nice condition. nbsp;polishes up well and I would say you would be hard pushed to find a finer example in such great order for its age and price. The 6. 75 litre V8 rubbles into life on the turn of the key. and is ready for the off when the self levelling and brake systems are all charged (this standard if the car has been standing for more than 4 hours). There's noting like it for shear presence. elegance and stature. If your buying this type of car not to be noticed you would be making a big mistake. you will be noticed. Its remarkable valued car for what was over £100. 00 when new and can be had for what it would cost you for a reasonable second hand family car.

The car comes with a full history. the previous owners did much research when he acquired it obtaining even Bentley's own print out of the service record to check the service stamps in the two service books. You can buy one these for as little as 3K but I wouldn't even contemplate buying a car like this for anything less than 10K. an excellent low mileage 1997 LWB one can fetch prices on the wrong side of 35K. A really nice 1995 cars can be found around 15-18K. You can find a few around 6-8K but I would not buy without a full inspection. and you be prepared to have to spend the wrong side of 3K at least to fix essential mechanical items. Another Bentley sold that I looked at for 6K but the new owners had reported spent 8K to get her back on the road. The interior has to be good. all wood sound. and door cards and leather otherwise you will have to fork out silly money to to replace these items.

I bought this car in October 2012 the intension was to realise a aspiration of mine to simply own one of these fine cars but also to consider doing a few weddings. proms etc. having adapted the garage to take this car's length. all was set until my wife decided she now wants to downsize our home with the children all but on their way in life. Our house will be on the market by the expiry of this listing so the pressure is now on to find a deserving home for this Bentley.  We intend to move into town and as result few homes in town come with garages or even off road parking spaces (at our budget) which means she will have to go. the Bentley that is! (though I did think about it for a while!) I considered storing her in a friends barn but no longer has the room. and nearest insured classic car store is 25 miles away. and not easy or convenient to take her out for a quick spin without prior appointment. so I left with the last option to sell her to another deserving owner.

If I can't at least recover my investment (The reserve is set at this) I probably retain her longer and bite the bullet and store her in Basingstoke. found a suitable storage garage.

This might suit someone like me. who desires to own one of these fine cars. or someone who has some serious intentions to earn a living from Weddings and prom's.

Though the MOT is due to expire I will sell the car with a new MOT as my engineer mechanic has no worries it will sale through.

If you planning to offer me a silly price of 6-8K then I suggest you can find many possible candidates out there for this price but they just won't be anything close to as good as this car.

This car is 21 years old so she not concourse. things I planned to sort out. one central console bulb that illuminates part of the heater controls has blown. though cheap is not easy to get to it. the cruise control. though it works. occasionally will dis-engage for no reason. may a value or has an electrical fault. The central locking on the drivers door works most of the time. but the odd occasion doesn't lock first time on the key fob. maybe a worn solenoid needs replacing in time. The paint is fine but the lacquer on the bonnet could probably do with re-doing in the not to distance future.

You will note the car comes with the later alloy wheels. I personally think they look great but some purists might prefer originals. (see option to bid on car with standard wheels. the original alloys with tyres on. centre caps and keys that will come with the car. I had a bid for the later alloys of 1500 so will separate only if car can be sold with standard wheels.

The car can return surprising mpg. I done a few trips to the midlands returning 20-21 mpg on light throttle use and keeping her at 65 mph on the motorway. but the average is about 15-16 mpg. Push the right foot to the floor though she will surprise a few hot hatches with a 0-62 in about 6. 7 sec and onto a top speed of over 140 mph (not bad for a 2 ton car) mpg will drop to 12-13 mpg.  

So her you have it. my dream can be your dream. make it happen. I did and I never regret it. just sorry I can't continue the dream. but love someone now to carry it on.
