1965 VW Beetle 1641cc Black/Rat 71 Chassis Full M. O. T Tax Free
This is the regrettable auction of my beloved Beetle call Lateralus. I have owned her for around five years and carried out an extensive restoration on her which includesFull brake system renewal: New Type 3 rear cylinders New brake pipes New copper brake lines New Type 3 rear drums and pads New disc brake setup at the front New calipers and pads New brake master cylinder Reconditioned 1641cc engine:Originally fitted with twin 36 dells but now has a progressive webber fitted. New distributor. Alternator conversion. Empi rocker covers. New fuel regulator. New oil cooler and seals. New fuel filter. New HT leads. New Empi oil breather. Black gloss tinware. big bore exhaust which sounds amazing. New clutch when engine was fitted and Webber has had a recent rebuild and tune up so ticks over great and pulls very well indeed. Bodywork:The body has had allot of work carried out on it it including new and nos wings. new wing beading and wing bolts. body stripped down adn any areas of rust removed before the whole car being painted. has a removable rear valance which helps with engine removal and installation and any repair work. the bonnet and rear valance have been left rat to offer a contrast to the shiny gloss black. This gets allot of attention and people really love it. There are T-bars fitted to the rear for that cal look and the front has been filled along with the trim holes down the sides. There are small imperfections on her which is to be expected on a car of this age. this is not a concourse Beetle by any means. Underside:The heater channels and floor pans and in great condition and were changed not long before I purchased the car five years ago. she has been under sealed and protected from the elements so there should be no problems for you there.  Mechanics:There are New lowered KYB Gas shocks on the front which give a great look to the front end which is already lowered due to the adjustable lowered front beam. The rear has had New adjustable coil over shock absorbers which provide great suspension and handling. Over the five years she has had various ball joints upper and lower replaced along with bearings. Wheels:  She has been fitted with reconditioned 15" Empi 8 spoke alloys with new tyres all round. the stance is very much cal look again with the larger rear tyres and small low profile tyres on the front. This helps greatly with handling and road grip along with looking awesomeInterior:She has been fitted out with 67 delux seats and door cards which are in very nice condition and comfortable. There are matching biscuit colored mats which are new. the rear has a rat look luggage compartment lid from an old T2 which lifts up allowing you to store you items. There is an Empi short shit T handle shifter which helps greatly with gear change. A nice period D-ring steering wheel complete with wolfburg horn push which is in great condition. Electric have been overhauled with attention been spent on wipers and lights to make sure this is as reliable as can be so rest assured all those usual niggly electrical problems have been addressed in this Beetle. Price:I believe the price is a true and fair representation of the work. money and time spent on making this a super Beetle and that it is a fair representation of the condition. As said before this is not a concourse Beelte and there are small things which I would sort out if I were keeping her longer such as the windows when wound down sometimes stick. there is a small drip of oil from one of the pushrod tubes which is very common and an easy fix other than that I personally would leave it as it is and just enjoy her.
Please do feel free to come and view her as she needs to be seen in the flesh to truly be appreciated. other than that I please ask for payment to be made in full before collection of the vehicle and cash only please. Happy bidding and good luck!
