This is quite a rare microcar. It is a 1956 Mochet from France and even by microcar standards this car is very minimalist.
The body and paint are in very good condition with just a couple of very small scratches and dings. It looks fantastic and has no rust or damage at all. The glass is excellent. The top is also excellent. solid disc wheels are in great condition. This car displays really well and looks fabulous among any car collection whether it be with other micros or in stark contrast to American cars of its era.
The interior is also excellent. door panels. carpet. seat. dash are all great. Engine access is through a rather crude metal hatch behind the front seat. technically this car is a mid engine exotic like many Ferraris!
The engine is a Ydral 1 cylinder 2 stroke 125cc. It starts easy and runs great. The brakes are simply bands that tighten on drums on the rear axle only (like a model T) they are mechanical so no hydraulics to go bad from sitting. The steering is direct like a go kart. It has a pedal/cable operated clutch that works perfect. The gearbox is 3 forward speeds plus reverse and it works great but can be hard to find gears until you get used to it. The odometer shows 6306 km.
It has a sunroof that can be flipped open at the front or the whole top can be removed (although this would require removing a couple screws). The fuel system is a simple gravity feed with a fuel tap that can be reached from the drivers seat. The electrics are 6v and the lights and turn signals do work. The ignition runs off a magneto so the car can run without a battery at all. Strangely there does not seem to be a switch to turn off the engine so to kill it you put it in gear and put your foot on the brakes and let out the clutch.
The top speed is only about 35mph (believe me. you won't wan't to go faster than that in this!)
This Mochet was imported from Europe last year and has NOT been licensed in the USA yet. It does come with original European title. papers and customs and EPA import paperwork.
I highly recommend and encourage a personal inspection. The Mochet can be viewed by appointment in Snohomish WA (near Seattle)Buyer is responsible for shipping costs and arrangements. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. must be picked up within 30 days of auction end.
Please feel free to ask any questions.

Hello,

The rear wheelswheels sit in between and behind the front wheels, though I have a hard time figuring out what the track is of the rear wheels. Do you happen to know this?

Kind Regards,
Daan Buis
