This is a numbers matching 1966 Pontiac GTO convertible with original interior. one original color respray. and all PHS documentation.
It is a mostly unrestored car.  Everything I have done to it is with an eye to drivability. it is returnable to completely original in one weekend.  It was painted once about 9 years ago. pinstripe removed. very limited bodywork required - body is straight as an arrow and pictures during paintwork and reciept are supplied in the documentation.  I have provided pictures down both flanks.  The interior is original and untouched. down to the weatherstripping on the doors and original knobs and buttons.  The sticker for the original owner's parking pass from where he worked in is still affixed to the rear view mirror.  The knobs and buttons have an original patina. the headlights and brights appear to be original equipment.  I have a copy of the original order sheet. original options. owner's manual. PHS documentation. and the warranty card mailed to the original owner. Mr. James Brock of Wisconsin who took delivery in May 1966. He was 48.  It was kept by him until he was 89 years old. passing it to his son. in July of 2007. where it was titled again in Wisconsin.  The car title almost immediately passed to a man who knew the family and had an eye on the car who lived in Kansas. that same month. so I consider him to be the second owner.  At the time. it had 67. 32 miles on it.  He spent over 10k on paintwork. then appeared to have a change of heart and sold the car to me.  He did not drive the car very much. as I purchased the car less than 2k miles after he bought it and less that a year after it left the body shop with 69. 22 miles.  I have all paperwork documenting this and they are photographed above.    The floor is original. as is the trunk.  There is no rust to speak of. but the frame rails have light surface rust. shown in pictures.   When I bought the car. the original fuel pump was still on the numbers matching motor. but compression was down and it was in need of a rebuild.  I made the decision at that time to pull the original motor and set it aside for the next owner. as I planned on driving it and I knew that anyone as detail oriented as me would want to oversee the motor rebuild themselves to assure parts were all of the highest quality.  It is an original 4bbl 2 speed car.  To that end. I found a duplicate 389 Tri-Power motor. purchased that. and rebuilt both the motor and the Tri-Power setup. seen installed on the car.  Butler McMaster built the motor. bumping compression from 11. 2 down to 10. 2 to allow for unleaded premium gas. and bumped the power back to original levels using Doug's headers and a Tri-Power cam.  Sparky's Carbs. one of the best in the nation. rebuilt the Tri-Power.  A Fluid Damper harmonic balancer is installed.  Motor is making just under 150PSI compression across all eight cylinders.  The idle is purposefully lopey but extremely drivable. as power comes on immediately.  I didn't want to cut a porch for a 4spd manual but wanted the drivability of more gears. so I purchased an Art Carr build 2004R which is also installed in the car. giving a much more responsive 1st gear and adding both a 3rd and 4th gear for a wonderfully effortless highway cruise - I have seen 24 mpg on the one longer road trip I took with it. The original motor and trans are pictured above and of course come with the car.   The restoration shop that works on the car marvels at its originality every time it is in the shop. calling it a "time capsule" with some modern improvements.   This car is the best of both worlds. a beautiful driver that turns heads wherever it goes that you can enjoy spring. summer and fall. and a numbers matching show car when you desire it.  The paint presents well. as it is better than driver quality. but I would call it a number 2 car. not a number 1. Minor imperfections can be found if you look for them. which I cannot help but do.  I have added period correct Steward Werner Gauges and a Tachometer for monitoring and drivability. pictured.  Feel free to call with any questions - I have embedded a few short videos below so you can hear it start. shift. nbsp;and run. sorry they are oriented incorrectly. tech isn't my strongest suit.  The car is for sale locally and auction may be ended early.  Feel free to call with additional questions at  603-498-1484.  You know how every used car you ever buy has about 1k in deferred maintenance?  I just brought it to my guy for a once over and did a major service. replacing front brake shoes. oil. valve cover gaskets. went through and adjusted carb linkages. replaced center link for the front suspension. and did a tune-up.  Car is ready to drive for the summer.  Worst part of the car is the top. which is not pretty.  I never have it up. but that might be my next replacement item were I to keep the car.  I took a pic of it from it's worst angle so you can judge for yourself.
P. S. - this is my wife's eBay account. please disregard the other items purchased or sold that are visible in feedback.  I am not into handbags or other assorted female items.

Just want to be clear - If you read my description there are two drivetrains.  I forgot to mention that there is a terrible sounding modern alpine stereo in the glove box. it is terrible because I didn't want to put speakers anywhere so they are hidden under the seat. I mostly just listen to the engine but the stereo does work.  I added an electric fan and aluminum radiator. but original radiator comes with car.  I also added a 3. 55 rear posi to better match the tripower cam and transmission. the original 3. 23 is included.  Due to the many additional parts. especially the motor. please consider this when picking up the car.  A pickup truck for parts towing a trailer for car makes the most sense.  Alternatively. I can get most parts in the giant trunk. but obviously not the original motor.
