The Talladega was produced so that its aerodynamic features could be used on NASCAR's super speedways (back when the motto was win on Sunday. sell on Monday). NASCAR rules required that a certain number of any model raced must be produced for public sale for it to be considered a stock car (homolagation). The nose on the Talladega is extended and slanted. the grill is flush and the front bumper is actually a modified rear bumper. The rockers are rolled higher (a clever way to allow the Talladega to sit lower on the track while staying within NASCAR clearance restrictions). This era was considered the Aero Wars and took place during the 1969 and 1970 seasons. The Talladega was by far the most successful of the aero carsl. NASCAR implemented a rule change for the 1971 season which put an end to the aero wars (aero cars would be required to run maxuim 5. 0 liter powerplants). The Dodge Charger 500. Dodge Daytona.
