Split Window Kombi

15 Window ex Brazil

Imported from Brazil a year ago. registered in NSW and intended for a Wedding Hire vehicle but circumstances have changed. Now for sale in Queensland. nbsp;unregistered. The Brazilian model Kombis continued with the split window up to 1975 so yes this is a genuine Split Window Kombi ex Brazil. LHD (Left hand drive) import.  Paperwork included in the sale is the original Vehicle Import approval. Brazilian Title and previous NSW registration certificate. Buyer will be responsible for all registration related cost.

Vehicle has an older restoration well done prior to being imported. Body is nice. solid and pretty straight. nbsp;paint is good driver quality. looks good but up close you can see minor imperfections. There are a few body repiars around the car. nothing that you wouldn't expect from a vehicle of this vintage but obviously done in the restoration. There are also a couple of trim bits missing in the photos but we are sourcing these parts and they will be included in the sale.

Underneath you can see the rear floors are very nice and solid. a couple of the floor pans and floor supports have been replaced with new and appear to have been done properly. Front floors were repaired not replaced and in my opinion they will need replacing in the near future. This seems to be a pretty standard area for these cars to go and upon close inspection you can see that this area will need re-doing. These floor pans are easily sourced and its not a big job to cut the old ones out and weld new ones in place. The area is very accessible and nothing really in the way. We can organise to have this repair done for you if need be.

Interior wise all of the seats have been recovered and are as new. headliner is new and all interior panels are new. Vehicle presents very well inside. Glass is good but does have the odd scuff here and there. Rubbers are good and seal well. There is one slight leak in the front left windscreen that I noticed when washing the car. just kind of runs under the glass and onto the rubber floor matt. Wipers are there but I removed them to open the front split windows. they are easily reattached with a flat head screwdriver. All lights work. indicators are working. horn works but comes on sometime when the steering whell is turned. This must be a wire from the horn shorting to earth in the column area.   The fuel gauge works (when it wants to) then moves around a bit while driving. Sometimes it reads empty and then you blink and it will read 1/2 tank. I'm not sure whats going on there but just so you know.

Driving this split window is like. driving a Kombi I guess.  This one starts up very easily and idles well. motor is tight. doesnt blow any smoke and runs good. She cruises along well with no mechanical issues. shifts through the gears and pulls up just like you'd expect. I've driven a few of these in the past and this one is the best driving one to date. Tires are brand new and still have the litttle nipples on them. Mechanically it all seems quite good but will need to pass a roadworthy in the state it's registered in. As I mentioned before it was registered in NSW last August and hasn't done many Klms since.

Overall I would rate this bus a nice "driver quality" rig thats reasonably priced for someone that wants an entry level Kombi. Not a show car but nice entry level bus.
