Hello and welcome to this auction.

On offer 1991 EBI S-XR8. Being a December '91 build it's a very early example and quite unusual. being a Factory Black Factory Manual example. I have a verification letter from Ford that states only 13 were made in this combination. though I don't know if this includes EBII models as well. Who knows how many are left? A very rare example of the very first XR8's (and EFI V8's) that Ford Australia ever made.

This is a genuine EB S-XR8. indicated by the 'Recaro' style interior with front seats similar to the EB Fairmont Ghia and ED XR's. Underneath these early XR's had the stronger 4 pinion LSD's along and reportedly forged engine internals. The original duck tail spoiler must have been removed before I bought the car as the build sheet states it was ordered with one. The polished/machined 15" EB XR wheels were also changed before I purchased it. These early XR's only had a vinyl sticker to differentiate them from the lower spec S-Pacs. they only received 'proper' XR badges in the later Tickford era.

This car is pretty original and in decent solid condition for a 25 year old Falcon with 270. 00km. I still drive this car every day in Canberra traffic. It's never let me down in the last 10 years and 100. 00km that I've owned it. Most of the modifications I've done are small and easily reversible. The corner indicators are ED XR replicas and the side indicators and AU XR clears. The steering wheel is a genuine Momo leather wheel similar in style to the ED XR wheels. The trip computer is factory EB but was not originally optioned. I added it later.

Underneath it has extractors and a new exhaust (quiet for roadworthy) and Nolathane/Superpro bushes all round. A new A/C compressor was fitted 18 months ago and the tyres are good. The stereo is a Sony Bluetooth (No CD) system with Jaycar Response up front and Sony 6" in the rear. I had a large amount of work done about 15. 00km/5 years ago. including but not limited to rebuilding the original T-5 fitted along with a new clutch and completely replacing both the suspension and brakes including braided brake lines. I still have the receipts but they're much too detailed to list here.
 
Bad things: The clear coat is starting to go (always happens with Black) and the drivers seat has wear. although I've removed the sheepskin covers it usually has for the photos. The headlining is starting to sag and the diff is noisy. Something is a little ticky in the engine. maybe a lifter. I'm honestly not too sure. That said I've driven this car all over Australia and it's a great cruiser. I've completed numerous 1000km days. often back to back. with no worries. It gets about 9. 5L/100km on the highway. 12. 5L/100km around town and I've always run it on 98 Octane fuel.

Car is located in Canberra. Happy to have it inspected but final sale is final.
