Reason forsale

I took the Porsche off the road in July 2011. after it completed my annual trip to Goodwood. in order to tackle the kidney bowl repairs on both sides. I removed the sill covers and cut a small inspection section on the offside only. but aswith some projects. there the car sat until the present day. I am selling to give someone else the chance to own this solid car and tackle the welding. The car has been garaged and covered. trickle charged and started and driven around private grounds weekly.

A Tracker is fitted which can be simply changed into new owners name.

I have detailed below relevant points. both positive and negative. that should be considered before bidding. You are bidding to buy not view.

FRONT body

Luggage compartment has 'luxury carpet'.

Offside wing has rusted out at the bottom adjacent to the sill; a small section will need grafting in. Paint is chipped on the top of the wheel arch.

Nearside wing has considerable rust bubbling under the headlamp.

Bumper and lower valance is showing signs of rust.

MIDDLE body

Offside door has a 10 pence sized dent at door handle level. paint is not cracked.

Both doors have a couple of nicks from years of use. but operate perfectly.

Targa rollbar has been repainted at some point. but the finish is not perfect.

Targa roof fits well and is both water and 'fairly' air tight. but is ready for a re-coverto make perfect.

Both sill cover panels have been removed. a small section has been cut out on the offside to gain access to the kidney bowl. Welding work is required on both kidney bowls.

There is a small bit of blistering on the bodywork where the roll bar meets the body nearside.

The black wheel arch adhesive stone guards stickers were removed along with the sill covers. new stickers will be needed.

REAR body

Rear wiper cleans the screen well but does not park at present.

Rear lower valance has some rust and dents.

Rear bumper is rusting beneath the rubber bump strips.

INTERIOR

Leather seats. fronts are powered. all in very good condition.

Both door panels. pockets and door pulls are in very good condition

Rear parcel shelf with two speakers is in very good condition.

The dashboard must have been painted black over the original brown; this paint is wearing through on the dash above the clocks.

The centre console has been painted and needs to be reprinted or replaced.

The gear knob. although it shows correct shift pattern. is not an original G50 knob.

The heating system works as it should.

The carpet is after market and is poorly fitted /shabby and needs completely replacing.

Electric windows. central locking and power mirrors all work correctly.

Windscreen has a vertical scratch on the inside driver's side. I can only imagine it is from a lady's ring. wiping the screen clean? I think it is shallow enough to repair .

ENGINE

Has turbo valve covers fitted.

Just had alloy collapsible oil return tubes fitted

Has stainless heat exchangers and Ansa stainless rear box.

The oxygen sensor looks to have been deleted at some point.

Engine is dry from the main case and all usual areas. but there still seems to be oil getting onto the nearside heat exchanger which smokes as the engine heat increases. Even so. I keep a piece of card under the engine to catch drips. but it has always remained dry.

The engine is very strong and continues to pull in all gears.

The clutch was replaced approx 20. 00 miles ago and is still good.

FRONT Axle

Turbo tie rod ends have been fitted

Brake wear sensors are present but have been tie wrapped up out of action.

Fuchs alloys are fitted with new Falken FK452 205/55ZR 16. Currently the nearside Fuchs has been temporarily replaced by a 'Type 911' aftermarket Fuchs type. I was going to attempt stripping the original. never attempted but the alloy will come with the car.

Calipers. iscs and pads all in good working order.

REAR Axle

I believe that the rear deep dish alloys are actually aftermarket Fuchs type alloys as I cannot find the Fuchs company logo as found on the fronts. In excellent condition and fitted with new Nexen N3000 245/45ZR 16.

Brake wear sensors are present but have been tie wrapped up out of action.

Calipers. iscs and pads all in good working order.

Overall the Porsche is a great solid project that. after the welding. will once again be areally enjoyable. useable classic.

The comprehensive receipts/history file that comes with the car. gives the future owner a great timeline of every part ever ordered for the car and all ofits mechanical  work/ servicing. The original Porsche service book is not present. ut the aforementioned history file more than compensates.

Please look carefully over the photos and bid with confidence. I don't want to 'give the car away' and would like the auction to run its course.

Cleared funds are required before collection. which must be within 7 days of the auction end. This Porsche is sold as seen and no guarantee or warranty is offered or implied.

The Porsche drives and can therefore be easily loaded onto either trailer or transporter.

Best of luck with your bidding!!
