1970 Triumph GT6 Mk2 Overdrive

Thanks for looking at this listing. It is for a rare sought after Triumph GT6 Mk2. the most collectable of the GT6 range.

This particular example was registered in 1970 and was originally brown.

From looking at the comprehensive history with the car I can see that around ten years ago it was subject to extensive work. The most apparent change to the car was the re-working of the front end. Basically. the front bumper has been removed and the bonnet hinges 'hidden' giving a smooth appearance to the front end. It looks very impressive and is a very well executed job. The original bumper etc is with the car so could be converted back to original spec but personally I think it really suits the car.

Likewise at the rear. the quarter bumpers have been removed and holes smoothed over.

I have a folder full of receipts including an engine rebuild by EMS . plus many other parts.

Over the last couple of years the car has had recovered front seats and new carpets fitted. but during that time the car has stood. hence needing recomissioning

I will try and give the best appraisal I can to assist all potential purchasers.

Bodywork

The bodywork looks great from a distance and the wedgewood blue colour really suits the car. Up close though there are some bits and pieces that need attention ie two of the wheel arches have some corrosion . nothing too bad and there is some surface rust here and there. The floors seem nice and solid as does the chassis. The bonnet is in good condition. There is a webasto sunroof which I have not opened but it is leak free

 

Interior

The seats have been recovered and look great and it has a new carpet fitted which is of excellent quality. The dashboard is poor but a replacement is included with the car. There is no headlining . The door panels are good.

Mechanically

The car is currently not running. The engine will turn over but seems to have a fault with the ignition switch/ solenoid . It also needs a battery. No reason to think there is any problems. I just don't have the time to give it any attention. It has overdrive fitted. The car rolls freely

It will not take much work to get the car up and running and MOT'd and has great scope for further work.

Offered for sale at £3995 and will be worth much more when finished
