1986 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio 

 

When was the last time you laid eyes on a super clean rust-free Alfa Romeo? For many of us. that’s probably on the other side of the last millennium. Here at Blue Marlin Motors USA we have one of the cleanest Alfas we’ve ever seen.

 

This car is incredibly clean. It can’t be said enough. The bright red gloss paintjob shines in the Florida sun. It invites you to take this Italian drop top out for a drive. Designed by the legendary Pininfarina styling house. the Spider Quadrifoglio is an inspiring and beautifully designed automobile. The black convertible top tie in nicely to the black bumpers and rear segment with its subtle spoiler.  

 

Quadrifoglio is Italian for four-leaf clover. On Alfa Romeos. the cloverleaf badge was used to denote the high end engine or luxury options on certain cars. In the case of the Alfa Romeo Spider. the Quadrifoglio has its own special styling tweaks that are not shared with any other model. The rear spoiler with its integrated third-brake light. side skirts. and the exclusive 15” alloy wheels are present on the exterior. Head to the interior of a Quadrifoglio. and you get electronic gauges. exclusive blood red carpet and special gray leather seating with red stitching. The cars could also be fitted with an optional removable hardtop. which our model does not have.  

 

Mechanically. the Quadrifoglio is identical to the higher-end Veloce model. The same 1962cc DOHC engine with Bosch electronic fuel injection and variable valve timing is present. and it’s mated to a five-speed manual transmission. As you might have guessed. this makes the Alfa a very fun and enjoyable car to drive anywhere. Rowing through the gears provides a driving experience that is unforgettable. This Spider carries itself with an Italian bravado that can never be replicated by any other manufacturer.  

 

Looking under this car tells the true story. however. Unlike many classic Italian cars. there is no rust to be spoken of on this Alfa Romeo. There is even still paint on many of the underbody surfaces. including the radiator core support. Much of the exhaust system is original. however one of the mufflers was replaced with another OEM unit. You may never come across another Spider as clean as this one.
